Magnus on Water is a cocktail bar and restaurant that features Peruvian-inspired comfort food from Chef Rafael Zimmerman. Bar Director Brian Catapang helms the Pinnacle Award winning cocktail program at Magnus, with rotating, seasonal drinks to compliment the big flavors of Raf's food. Sustainability is paramount to us, and we work with farmers & fisherman who are respectful of Mother Earth, while working diligently to minimize waste.

Our space is polished, but still intimate and cozy, and in the summer Magnus on Water has a large outdoor patio, complete with gardens and fire pits. We also have a private dining room for large parties and are available for full or partial event rentals.

                          Magnus is a hidden gem in the little town of Biddeford. We were able to walk in on Saturday night with a party of four and had an unbelievable experience! The restaurant is intimate and decor warm and subtle. The service was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable and Cherie made us feel at home like family. The wine and mini cocktail was delicious to start and every dish tasty and well thought out. The menu is small with a Peruvian flavor. What a treat! We definitely recommend this place to everyone and will most certainly be back! Thank you!

                          We loved the peruvian food. My husband and I shared the peruvian caesar salad, potato dish, branzino, and mushroom pasta. Very flavorful dishes. Very special cocktail menu, I particularly enjoy a drink cold the couchsurfer (tequila, mezcal cocktail). Very intimate dining. Very good service. We will definately be back and look forward to dining on the outside patio during the summer months

                          Magnus has been on our list to try for a long time. We came in for my husband’s birthday and had a delightful experience at the bar. The team behind the bar made our night extra special. The food was top notch with exciting dishes. Our group of 4 ended up sharing everything because it was that good! We’ll be back again asap!

                          In Maine for one month, ate at Magnus four times. Rivals any Portland restaurant, gifted creative chef, owner/bartender Cat is the king of hospitality. Already our favorite restaurant. Period.

                          Absolutely amazing EVERYTHING!!! Food, wine, service- all perfection. Brought out of town guests here for dinner and we just had the MOST enjoyable experience. Will definitely be frequenting this gem!!!!

                          It was my second time there in less than a month, and just like the first time everything was perfection! From the staff, food and ambiance, I left completely happy and I cannot wait to come back! Kudos.

                          We have been wanting to try this place for a while and was able to get a last minute reservation sitting at the bar. Jonathan was our server/bartender, who made us feel so welcomed as soon as we sat down. We started with cocktails, a Tarantula and a Cocoberry Negroni. Excellent! I love when a cocktail is so good that you feel the need to recreate it at home for houseguests! We shared the Roasted Caraflax Cabbage as an appetizer, which was like a warm Caesar salad flavored dressing over roasted cabbage, and the Papa Huancaina - amazing flavors in both dishes! Our main dishes were the Charred Branzino and the Pepper Braised Oxtail. I thought that the piece of fish was a little on the small side, very thin, but the flavor of the dish was really delicious. The Oxtail was really incredible. I'm pretty sure there was a hint of cinnamon in the dish, which really gave the dish a warm and cozy feel - perfect for a cold February night! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be bringing out of town guests here this summer!
