Mandolin is a breath of fresh air to the Raleigh dining scene, combining a casual atmosphere with fresh, contemporary, Southern fare. Mandolin uses the highest quality local ingredients to create seasonal menus that resonate with foodies and casual diners, alike. We share our food in a relaxed, cozy atmosphere that replaces the stuffiness of fine-dining with Southern charm. The menu and ambiance reflect the character of Raleigh itself- a blend of rustic and refined, contemporary and traditional, rural and metropolitan. Mandolin, like the City of Oaks, is Southern at its roots, but draws influences from around the world. We love our new home in Hayes Barton, just a stone's throw from Five Points, on the corner of Oberlin and Fairview.

Yhe food was great fresh and interestingly prepared . Out server Rory was attentive in just the right way.

Service was slow and basic order inaccurate. Seemed to be an indifference to the inaccuracy and the time taken to get the correct order out. To be fair: -We were a table for 8 with 2 kids, and the restaurant full. Don’t know if there was an issue in the kitchen. It was the indifference that annoyed me more than anything. - My previous brunch experience was excellent.

Wonderful lunch in a beautiful atmosphere. Kale Caesar salad was delicious. I will definitely go there for lunch agiain.

Menu has gotten just a bit too over the top. Had the pork tenderloin. Average at best

Beautiful restaurant, service was good. Food was tasty, but expensive (which is what we expected). We waited quite a bit for our food, so I’m glad we ordered the corn bread, which was delicious. The lighting was shockingly bright and took away from the ambience of the dinner, which would be my biggest feedback! Overall good experience.

Nice ambience. We were there early so few customers. Waitress seemed new but adequate. Starters - pumpkin soup - 5/5 delicious. Salad with beets - 4/5 - nice variety of elements. Mains - sea bass $44 w/cauliflower. 4/5 Second main steak frite - lacked taste 3/5 didn't finish Overall a nice restaurant but for prices charged you expect to be wowed by everything. Certainly, a safe choice, but I would choose elsewhere , pay less, with the same result. It's probably just me, but I don't get the expensive restaurants, you pay a lot more and YES, some part of the meal is above standard, but usually 1/2 of it is ordinary. For me, I would just as soon as eat at an average restaurant and pay 1/2 the price. Sorry. This is why I would not be back here unless I was seeking the ambience for a special event.
