Manta is the signature restaurant of the iconic Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and has breathtaking views of the Kohala Coast. The menu is a curation of Pacific Rim cuisine with seasonal, local, and sustainably-produced ingredients.
Chef Bryan Nagao has gained formidable reputation in the international food community. He was once described by American media as "the most notable figures in rendering Modern Asian cuisine in the Northern hemisphere". The creativity permeating his cuisine stems from the diversity of his culinary background. Bryan's cuisine is a multi-faceted reflection of his Hawai'i Island birthplace, his Japanese ancestry, and decades spent in the finest restaurants in Hong Kong and Taipei.

                                                              Man O man has the Mants Gone down hill. I brought a party of 5 nothing looked appetizing, the menu was confusing and limited. Appetizers were not properly presented. I ordered a foie gras which came in a bowl, no toast, cracker just a little lonely foie gras. Just cut and eat? Now that Marriot has taken over it's crap. Should have known.

                                                              Our second time dining at Manta this trip! Such a great experience the first AND second meals we had! Michael the manager was great again! Part of our meal service was provided by James and was outstanding and our main server was great as well. You cannot beat Manta for ambiance, the view is incredible, the food outstanding and the service. Thank you Manta for a very special experience!

                                                              We dined at Manta last night and it exceeded my expectations! I had the Buratta salad, Ahi and chocolate soufflé. It was a little noisy due to a luau next door, but so good and the location was lovely.

                                                              The food was excellent, the ambiance is unbeatable, and the service was impeccable. This was our second visit, and there will definitely be more. Magical place, well worth a visit! Note: Reservation required to obtain entry to the resort property if you’re not a registered Mauna Lani guest.

                                                              An absolutely fabulous dinner experience to celebrate Terri’s birthday. Beautiful waterfront table and glorious red sunset (due to vog). Our server Briana made our evening extra special by introducing daily specials, providing exemplary service and always with a smile. We enjoyed the shrimp and kale salad appetizers daily fresh catch chef’s special red snapper (prepared perfectly delicious ) and macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi paired with the best of wines. Also wanted to say special thanks to our buser Jason who almost invisibly kept us well hydrated and removed dishes at just the right time. Manta, you never cease to amaze us. We will be back.

                                                              Really disappointing. All the dishes we ordered had an unpleasant flavor including the Alaskan bombe, that is their most favorite dish. Won’t be going back.

                                                              The service was really great! Atmosphere was super quiet and personal. Waiter knew his stuff about the menu and was very persistent on checking in throughout the menu. Not a whole lot of food options especially if you don’t like seafood. We got steak ($70) it was pretty big but the flavors were very strong (vinegary) and not what I would call 5 stars. The mahi mahi was good, but not outstanding. Food was okay but not worth the price. Really had high hopes since the chef is credible and the menu was fresh. Would not say it’s worth the visit or price unless you are looking for a unique and quiet atmosphere rather than outstanding food.
