Located in the Arts District of Los Angeles, Manuela unites chef, farmer and artist to create an authentic and original dining experience. Under the direction of Executive Chef Kris Tominaga, the menu celebrates seasonal ingredients sourced from the best farms and producers in Southern California.

Serving a wide range of vegetables, grains, fish, and game, Manuela also features an exemplary bar program, which serves classic cocktails using house-made bitters and tonics. Local beers are on tap, while the carefully selected wine list is designed to pair with the smoke and acid at the heart of Manuela’s menu.

Designed by Los Angeles native Matt Winter and named for Manuela Wirth, the restaurant is illuminated and animated by specially commissioned works from artists Paul McCarthy, Mark Bradford and Raymond Pettibon.

Our server took our order and only ever came back to give us the check. Considering there was automatic gratuity given the size of our party, I definitely expected better. She then complained that we wanted to pay with more than 4 credit cards even though she did nothing to earn her sizable tip. The food and ambiance definitely don’t make up for the atrocious service, especially considering the price.

The service from the hostesses to the waiters were great. Friendly, professional, and accommodating. Overall the food was good. The biscuits with apple jam were standout. The French toast was a bit dry. Overall great and would go back.

We waited 45 minutes for the food and were very disappointed to find a piece of eggshell on our plate. Also, When we informed the waiter about the issue, they took our plate along with my fork and knife. Nobody provided new utensils until we mentioned it again. Although the waiter removed the plate and offered us complimentary biscuits, the overall experience was lower than I expected.

Food was amazingly good—as always. Staff pleasantly accommodated our two young children which added to an enjoyable family evening.

What a great way to take advantage of a beautiful LA day! Had brunch here and absolutely loved the outdoor venue and walking around seeing all the art. Had never really been to this part of LA and I was certainly missing out. Such a great vibe. Originally from the south I’m pretty critical when it comes to southern food but the beignets and cornbread were spot on. So yummy! Everyone at our table loved the shrimp and grits…just meh. The sides were true stand outs and the blistered snap peas were delicious. The popover Benedict was unique and the market salad had such unexpected ingredients. We loved them all and will definitely be back. And don’t forget the fun cocktails, and yummy desserts . Service was great as well!

Spectacular meal. Some of the dishes we chose included ingredients I had never tried before. I have been three times now and like it more each time. My wife also was impressed.
