Founded in 1996 the ideas for the Marblehead Chowder House were actually hatched a few years before. Sitting at "The Barnacle," overlooking Marblehead Harbor one raw winter day, while the spume from the rough saltwater painted the windows and the Sam Adams Lager flowed freely, a concept was born. Casual, coastal and cozy - fresh seafood, fin fish, shellfish and hearty chowders in a warm, relaxing atmosphere that says "seaside" - a place that had tradition, patriotism, and a New England heritage about it. Fresh ingredients, house-made soups and chowders, comfort food with a twist freshly prepared to order were all musts! Features unique to New England were the foundation – Ipswich Belly Clams (aka steamers, softshells, pissers), fresh Lobster Roll, a Raw Bar with half-shell oysters and clams and, of course, live Lobsters arriving regularly. Lighthouses and other nautical décor highlight the ambience to create a coastal dining experience like none other in the greater Lehigh Valley.

This was our first time here, on a recommendation from family. The restaurant, the service, and the food were TOTALLY enjoyable, as we celebrated an Anniversary. Our waitress was great, service was VERY good, we totally enjoyed our meal and the funnelcake fries with ice cream was the perfect dessert to end a wonderful meal. We will be back here again soon.

I went to this location for the first time on Valentine's Day wnd it was wonderful and I could not wait to go back with my girlfriends which we did today. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was today. Food was phenomenal and the value for the money is incredible. Our service was so bad. It took forever to get everything. She forgot to give us our salads.We were never asked if we wanted desserts.It was terrible. Spoke to the manager and she did apologize and said she would talk to our server but d8d not offered complimentary dessert or anything to make up for this experience. I will have to be honest this experience left such a bad taste in my mouth I will not sure if I will return or recommend this restaurant to others which I have been doing

Great service, great food, really reasonable prices. Little loud on a Saturday night at 8:30 PM, didn’t detract from the experience at all just something to note. Will absolutely be back.

Seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Waitress visited within a minute to take our drink order and drop off rolls. We ordered after our drinks’ arrival and were served within 20 minutes. Food was hot and delicious. My husband had tuna, cooked to perfection. I had the mixed grill, combo of steak, shrimp and chicken with rice and asparagus. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend. Our waitress was very attentive and very cordial.

We had a lovely lunch and our waitress was very helpful. Explaining the choices we had. The food was delicious and our overall experience was great. Would recommend you try Marblehead chowder House.

Our server Chris was wonderful. The seafood bisque was delicious. The special seafood risotto was ok, I’ve had better. We tried the key lime pie, which usually isn’t my first choice, but it was wonderful! The bottle of wine was very overpriced! All in all I love Marblehead’s and can’t wait for warmer weather to start partaking in the oyster specials!!

Food was great. Server (Gabby) was great. Took quite a long time for the food to come out. Main course was delivered about 75 minutes after ordering.

We have had several instances where the food was terrific but the service not good at all. We waited 20 minutes for our waitress to come to our table the first time. Then it was another 15 minutes before she brought our bottle of wine. It felt like we were always looking for her to be near us so we could get a refill of our waters even. So we ended up being g there for close to two hours when we should have been able to finish in about an hour and 15 minutes. It is going to be awhile before we return.

Food was average. Pace of meal to fast as appetizer and salad came out together and entree while still eating salad. We never received bread basket at our table
