   We ordered the falafel gyros tacos and the catch of the day. The gyros tacos were neither gyros (I'm Greek, so I know this for a fact) and they were not tacos (I've been to Mexico, and eaten many). They had 1 falafel broken into pieces in each one and mainly consisted of lettuce leaf and tomato in a cheap mini tortilla wrap. If I'd eaten this as part of a Morrison's meal deal I'd feel it was overpriced, so to have to pay £17 for this is outrageous. I thought at least there'd be a few falafel in each and the flatbreads would be homemade at that price, but sadly no. The catch of the day was burnt to a crisp. Parts of it were edible and apparently tasty but the edges were burnt as were the capers in the sauce. How anybody can serve up a plate of food like that to a paying customer is unfathomable, let alone charge them £24 for it. And it didn't come with anything, so we had to order sides to make it into a meal. Thankfully the service was good and the mocktail. Our server didn't seem remotely surprised when we complained which makes me think this must be a regular occurrence. Such a shame, as this was meant to be a special treat for my partner's birthday but ended up being an expensive disappointed, even though they did remove the price of the drinks as a goodwill gesture.

   Lovely restaurant, great vibe and décor and a big welcome. Food choice, quantity and quality was excellent (even the dog was offered a water bowl!) Great service, big shout out to Hettie and Nayla who helped make it a lovely evening

    A superb experience and a real delight of a find in this restaurant at Rye. The food was fabulous, we had 4 small plates between the two of us to start- beautifully presented and the flavours were gorgeous. Followed by 2 main courses that again we shared, both were very different but again wonderful flavours and beautifully presented. We tried some cocktails, selected by the staff- 2 young delightful girls, who were knowledgeable, very attentive and appeared to love their work, nothing was too much trouble! Two desserts followed and we finished off with a coffee type cocktail. Sitting in the conservatory area, overlooking the lit- up monastery set the scene for the evening. Thank you Marco’s; one of the best evenings we’ve had for a very long time, from the chefs, who we were told were the owners, to the two delightful, polite young girls who served us- FABULOUS!!!
