Although neither my husband nor I eat fish (he doesn't like it; I'm vegan), we visited Mass St. Fish House for the first time in anticipation of the vegetarian/vegan options on their Lawrence Restaurant Week menu. The ambiance was great (we loved the music playlist), and our servers (shout-out to our primary server, Maria!) were fantastic. The food was good - high-quality - but the vegan options could have been better. One item that was marked dairy-free on the menu was not actually dairy-free, which was disappointing. My entree arrived dairy-free as requested, but as the chef thought it lacking (as it was missing a major element due to that containing dairy), they offered a side salad to supplement it. One dessert was dairy-free but not egg-free, but I was willing to bend the rules of veganism in order to indulge. We had a relatively good experience and would be willing to come back in the future, provided there are vegan options.

Excellent service and 3 course meal for restaurant week was delicious! We had the salmon and trout - both perfectly cooked. I’d recommend more options for desserts as what was offered were not our favorites, but overall we had a wonderful evening and enjoyed our first visit ever visit to this restaurant.

Just wow! Best Happy Hour in Lawrence. Everyday 4:00 to 6:00. Great food and drinks. Knowledgeable staff. Great atmosphere. Love it!

Had the best experience coming here for my best friends birthday, our server went above and beyond to make the experience amazing and the food was incredible!

Food is amazing! Staff is the best around! I have never had anything I didn't love. I even tried oysters and glad I did. Great place to try oysters for a first time.

Table waiter was excellent. Menu needs more choices for vegetarians . Overall, one of our favorite dining locations.

I am giving Mass Street a 5-star rating, but there are a few things that weren't quite perfect. Certainly, in the Lawrence, Kansas limits, this restaurant is top notch. The atmosphere was noisy, making table conversation a little bit of a challenge. Prices were high, but not unreasonable for the product. We ordered the steak and the scallops, and they divided the two entrees into separate portions for my wife and me. Both entrees were delicious, but the scallop's portion was a little small. Most of the entree for the scallops was a serving of Bok choy, which was delicious but that's not what we paid almost $40 for. A couple more scallops would have justified the price. The service was very good, although i thought on a busy night, our very nice server was a little over-worked. We will go back. As long as you don't judge Mass Street by the standards of a big city, fancy restaurant, this is a very good place to eat. By the way, the Ahi Tuna Nachos, were the highlight of the meal.
