We’re known for wood-fired pizzas, mini burgers, fresh salads and chef-inspired entrées, like pan-seared sea bass and oven-roasted filet mignon. It’s American bistro fare, crafted from high quality ingredients with a chef at the helm in every kitchen.

Matchbox draws in passersby with oversized windows lining the sidewalk and a front-row view of the blazing pizza oven. Once indoors, the vibe remains warm and residential, as though guests are being welcomed into the Matchbox home. The design achieves this effect through elements like draperies to soften some of the more industrial edges and add texture, open shelving and wine displays, light gray wood wainscotting, and hardwood flooring throughout to lend natural warmth. Hand-painted murals from local artists add further context to the neighborhood, and bring in a touch of personality as well.

Outdoor seating on patios along both Woodmont Avenue and Elm Street offer plentiful people-watching in warmer months.

The server was kind, didn’t rush us, and even joked around a bit. The street corn app and fried chicken sandwich were sooo good. Will definitely come back again for brunch!

Food (including specifically the sliders and half chicken) was decent. The big issue was that our server basically disappeared for the rest of the meal after the entrees arrived. We were there celebrating a big birthday. The server brought a scoop of ice cream with a candle, but entrees had still not been cleared and we were never asked if we wanted dessert, which we would have ordered. Service started out fine but once the entrees arrived, that was it.

Great food. The atmosphere was great for connecting with friends, one of which we hadn’t seen for 44 years. Excellent service as well. As far as the volume, it was mainly us. Sorry about that!

The restaurant seems to have gone downhill. We visited on a Sunday and we were taking the two tables that were dirty to be seated at. I then went to the restroom to wash my hands and the towel dispenser was resting on the countertop along with the soap dispenser. The food was okay but not great like it used to be.

We were looking for a place near our hotel to have brunch and I found this location through an internet search. My husband loves pancakes and we both agreed that they were excellent. I loved the food, the ambience and the service.

We both enjoyed our pizza at Matchbox and the waiters were very attentive. They only two small criticisms are: 1). the light at our table was SO bright we felt like we were in an operating room 2). Although the hand-held checkout devices are convenient, I always feel rushed and didn't fully review our bill. I would rather see the bill at my leisure and then check out. But those are not big issues that would prevent us from visiting again.
