Featuring modern renditions of classic American seafood, Max’s Oyster Bar menu has something for everyone. While seafood is the focal point, there are selections for even the most ardent landlubber. Ethnic influences are apparent throughout a menu filled with new interpretations on traditional fare. The raw bar offers an extensive variety of bi-coastal oysters and shellfish.

In it’s freshman year, 1999, Max’s Oyster Bar was awarded “Best New Restaurant” by Connecticut Magazine. Since then it has won numerous Reader’s Choice Awards, including “Best Seafood Restaurant”. Zagat’s Survey has also given Max’s Oyster Bar an “extraordinary” rating.

We have been coming here for 30+ Valentine's. This time seemed rushed and the oysters weren't great. Lobsters and steak were good. Service seemed off....

First solo date on Valentines Day and it was pure joy. The staff was lovely, the service was top notch, music was great and the food was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait for another solo date there thank you Max Oyster Bar for making space for me and the great treatment.

The pre fixe menu sounded appetizing but ended up being a disappointment. Both the appetizers and entrees were completely bland with no ounce of flavor. Totally not worth the $300 we paid on Valentine’s Day, especially for our first time here. We could have went elsewhere and received an outstanding meal and even more for this price. The value did not match the quality at all. Would only recommend for maybe drinks but not worth it for the food.

Went for Valentines Day 02/14. Menu was Pre Fixe which we knew ahead of time. Max Oyster confirmed our reservation at least 3 times in between time of reservation and actual date. Both my wife's entire meal and mine were exceptional. I'm a bit of a steak snob and I had the bone in rib eye. It was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. Honestly the best steak I've had in a long time. We were very pleased with our whole experience. We don't get out as much with having younger kids. It was a great time and hopefully we will be back soon.

Hello, I thought for the price of the fixed dinner last night was over the top for what you get, I’ve eaten here many times over and it’s always been fantastic. The app which was the Ahi tuna with crispy rice was way too hard for me, fresh tuna but the rice killed it for me. The dinner was pretty good, rib eye Oscar was perfectly cooked, asparagus was terrible and hard. The whipped mashed under was over cooked, gummy, not for my liking. Dessert which was crème brûlée, great! I thought drinks or a drink would have been included with the 99.00 per person, not. Tip not included so for the amount of times I’ve had supper here it’s was way too expensive, 350.00 for 2 people everything should have been flawless. Anyway I’ll be back and won’t spend that kind of money ever again. Learned a lesson.

Went for an early Valentine's Day dinner and everything was just perfect. Lovely waitress, two excellent appetizers we shared (pear salad and tuna tartare) and both excellent dinners (black sea bass from the specials menu and paella). Molten chocolate beignets for dessert with cappuccinos finished of a wonderful evening. OOH...and we shared a bottle of champagne from the February discount bottle menu...a delightful surprise!

We come a long way to Max’s Oyster Bar. We drive from SudburyMassachusetts to meet friends from Yonkers New York. It’s 1/2 way. The food is delicious and consistently so. As is the service. It’s quiet enough to chat with our friends and we have a great time.

We always have a great time at Max’s. Wait staff should write orders down. They brought us asparagus instead of the broccoli we ordered and they totally forgot the fried rice. WRITE ORDERS DOWN PLEASE. Other than that, great experience!
