Independent and family-run, we opened Mele e Pere in the heart of Soho in February 2012.

We are three brothers and a friend who set out on a journey to create a genuine neighbourhood Trattoria reminiscent of the fabulous family-run places of northern Italy, where we all grew up.

You should feel just as comfortable popping in for a glass of home-made vermouth and some sharing plates at the bar as you should taking your time to work through the menu in the dining room.

We cook our seasonal and daily-changing menu with British produce and exceptional Italian ingredients. All of our Pasta, Pizza, desserts and Gelato are made in our kitchen fresh every day. We have London’s largest selection of Vermouths behind our bar and our exclusively Italian wine list has loads of options for you available by the glass.

                                                              Compared to other Italians I've been to, this experience was OK. The spaghetti carbonara arrived too quickly to be freshly made, and there was a lot of sauce with a raw egg yolk on top. The panchetta was thickly cut, and there was too much of it. Could be better with some tweaks.

                                                              We had such a good experience discovering this restaurant a few weeks ago so brought our friends last Friday. We had drinks at the bar before dinner and it was relaxing, the bartenders were attentive and friendly. Our friends enjoyed dinner but didn't like the wine. I actually ordered the same dishes as last time, the bruschetta with red pepper was great but the butternut squash in the Fregola was definitely undercooked, an oversight perhaps Will have another go again in a few weeks!

                                                              Delicious food, fast service, but incredibly loud. The couple on the table next to me had to yell their conversation at one another to be heard over the background noise of tens of other couples and groups doing the same

                                                              Great pre theatre experience. Great spritz drinks in happy hour (before 6), with their own vermouth was fantastic. Staff friendly and attentive. Food choice Pre theatre menu was great and tasty. Would recommend and will be back.

A candlelit basement with a cosy atmosphere and a warm friendly welcome with super delicious food, at affordable prices makes it the perfect soho spot fur a romantic date or pre-theatre dinner. So happy to have found a new gastronomic treasure on open table
