Located in the Warehouse District, Meril is Chef Emeril Lagasse’s lively restaurant in New Orleans. Meril’s casual restaurant interior is marked by a signature open style kitchen and a large bar area, featuring a varied wine selection and craft cocktails. Named after his daughter, the restaurant showcases some of Chef Emeril’s favorite dishes that he loves to eat, featuring everything from Wood Fired Flatbreads to Korean Chicken Wings.         I was so hopeful this was going to be good but it just was not. We were seated promptly and they brought water quickly but then we just sat waiting for our drink order to be taken until I asked someone for help. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time because we didn’t want to wait longer. They served the first course before the drinks were served and I had to ask again for the drinks and then they brought one and not the other and I had to call the waiter again to ask for the second drink. Sadly I never got my last course and had to get up and walk to the front and ask for the check because it seemed Like the kitchen was closing. It was just not a good experience. I worked with the late great chef Michel Richard for years as a manager with him in Santa Barbara so I know good service and food and this was not what we had hoped.

        Good food and bev, a bit spotty on the service but the staff is super friendly regardless! Highly recommend!

        Our second time at Meril’s. Cannot recommend it enough!! Interesting and creative menu. Mexican Street Corn the best we have ever had. Shrimp tacos, Sunday Flatbread. Service excellent. Will definitely be back.
