This restaurant had been on my bucket list for over a year, and I finally decided to treat myself to a solo date. I always research menus beforehand to ensure there's something that suits my palate, and when making my reservation, I even requested a corner seat by the window for the best view.
My reservation was set for the day after Valentine’s Day, and I had my heart set on their squid ink truffle lobster pasta. But from the moment I arrived, things started going downhill. The host completely ignored my seating request and placed me in the middle of the dining area, surrounded by groups and couples. On top of that, it was freezing where they sat me because the servers kept opening and closing the back door to serve guests dining in the outdoor heated igloos. My waiter skipped over me multiple times, prioritizing other tables—even those who arrived after me. I had to flag him down the entire time just to get service.
To top it off, the lobster pasta I specifically came for wasn’t available because it was a seasonal dish—something they failed to mention online. When I spoke to the manager, I asked if an exception could be made, but they refused. Instead, they offered to add lobster to their linguini pasta (which was served in a bag, no less) for an additional $25.
For my appetizer, I ordered bruschetta. While it looked great, it was saltier than Coney Island seawater. Their website advertised a happy hour, yet the restaurant had none. Then came the pasta—small portion, messy, and honestly, underwhelming. But the real shocker? NO BREAD. A restaurant with no bread is crazy to me! I had to ask for the crackers they used for the bruschetta as a substitute.
While the ambiance and view were stunning, the overall experience was a huge letdown. Terrible service, misleading advertising, and a ruined expectation.
