This was our 2nd time at Midtown, and we were (again) not disappointed. We had the same server from our first visit. Ella was wonderful! The music playlist was perfect, the energy was great, and the food was wonderful! Highly recommend Midtown Reserve if you are looking for a fine dining experience in Cedar Rapids.

We had Gabby as a waitress and she provided excellent service. She was very attentive to our needs and was very professional. My wife had salmon and I had a Filet. We also had a wild mushroom risotto appetizer that was delicious. The only issue we had was with my filet. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well to well done. Gabby mentioned that she could have another one made, but I chose to not have to wait longer. Overall, a good experience. They didn’t charge me for the filet.

Amazing! Hostess made the birthday experience great for my wife. Highly recommend to everyone! Drinks are very good, food was amazing!

Had a great dinner with friends. The tuna appetizer was by far my favorite. I had the 1/2 wedge which was good but not the best I’ve ever had. I had the special lobster pasta and was quite surprised when it showed up at my table with a full lobster tail. The lobster was good but I felt like the pasta could have used a little more of the creamy sauce. My husband had the lobster bisque which he throughly enjoyed. He entree was the New York strip and bacon wrapped asparagus and he did enjoy it. The desert we chose was the salted caramel crème brûlée and it was divine.

Steak was well prepared. Scallops were good as well. The mashed potatoes needed something a bit more (perhaps more of a cheese crust vs cold sour cream). French Onion soup was delightful. Overall, perhaps the prices were a bit high but we had a great time

The restaurant was busy because it was New Year’s Eve. My wife and I had a reservation and arrived about 15 minutes early. We asked to have a drink in the bar, which had a lively atmosphere. We were told that we could not, even though there was seating available. We were ushered into another room where we sat alone. We did get cocktails, but after a bit of a wait. The food was decent, but not worth the over $300 we paid for the meal. The service was okay until, at the end of our dinner, we were asked abruptly to leave so that the table could be turned. This was disturbing to us since we hadn’t lingered after our dessert and because we had just spent such a tidy sum.

Food and place was great. Table of 10 behind us was loud and obnoxious. Couldn’t even have a conversation with my wife.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Midtown Reserve. We went on a weeknight so we almost had the place to ourselves. It was beautiful inside, the service was wonderful, and the food was exceptional! The bar area provided a great spot to relax after the dinner and enjoy one more drink. We will definitely be back again.

Dress code was not upheld. Seen more sneakers than I've seen at the mall. Jeans and sweats! Had my wife wearing 4 inch heels for nothing!
