Welcome to Mikey and Mel’s, a living tribute to two great men who knew and loved a great deli experience. Our dad, Mikey and grandfather, Mel were deli “regulars,” dining at their favorite Cleveland, Ohio places. Mikey and grandfather. They savored juicy pastrami and corned beef, amazingly fresh pickles and intensely huge deserts. Their daily deli lunches were times to conduct business, strike deals and make friends. We often joined our dad and grandfather at the deli table. We remember the sights, smells and sounds of our favorite local deli–from the simple comforting decor to the aroma of deli meats and sour pickles. We also recall the brash and snarky staff. While we will always miss Mikey and Mel, we’ve decided there’s no better way to pay homage to two great men than by opening an old fashioned deli named for them. We are proud to invite you to enhance your own deli traditions here at Mikey and Mel’s.

Food was really good, mostly had breakfast items like the waffle and the pancakes. Service was fine but seemed a bit busy for the number of servers on duty. Overall, a good experience, will be returning!

Excellent service and great ambience for a breakfast and lunch spot! The food was for the most part really good. But be careful about ordering the salted salmon omelette. I love salty foods but wow I have never tasted anything so salty. A piece of bread touched the omelette and the bread was suddenly very salty as well. But everything else was great according to my family members!

Let me just state -- THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS. I initially thought the sandwiches were overpriced, when but when we got the food the portions were so generous it was clear they were well worth it. The HALF a chicken liver sandwich had so much chopped chicken liver, we made another 2 sandwiches out of it with the leftovers we brought home! The Ruben I got (1/2 corned beef 1/2 pastrami) was just right [and enormous]. We did not opt for any of the extraordinary desserts only because we had other plans for dessert but they all looked incredible. Our initial/primary server dropped the ball by disappearing for a time but other staff stepped in and ultimately the experience was quite nice. I certainly recommend Mikey and Mel's to anyone looking for a *nice Jewish deli*

Our sandwiches were fine. My husband and I both ordered hot sandwiches, but neither of them were actually hot. The staff was friendly and my husband really enjoyed the pickle bar even though it costs extra which most other places don't do. We do plan to go back and try some other dishes next time.

The sandwiches, tuna salad, and green salad were excellent. None of us particularly cared for the potato salad or pasta salad...too much mayonnaise and too sweet. Our server was very nice but seemed either new or a little overwhelmed. Overall thought, it was a good experience, and I would definitely recommend.

My reservation didn't work. No table was available for my party of 3. Had to wait 30 minutes before being seated. I think I even waited longer than other walk-ins.

Food is always delicious and plentiful. The pastries are among the best in the area. Mikey and Mel’s continues to fill a void in the DMV of high quality Jewish-type delis. Definitely will go back.

The selection is great, the food is amazing and the prices are very good. This is a great place to come to with friends for a leisurely meal and an enjoyable time. It was pretty crowded but the noise level was still good. If you have room for dessert you have to go for it - all the desserts are super. If you have never been here you must give it a try. My friends agree that we will be back.

We had a delicious breakfast and a wonderful server. We sat at a round table that fit 7 comfortably. Great atmosphere, and I highly recommend Mikey and Mel’s for any occasion.
