We went specifically for the Sunday roast. I got the beef roast and someone got the lamb roast. The lamb roast was very good and all the other entrees like the pot pie and burger were very good. The beef roast was disappointing. The meat was very overcooked and rubbery. The potatoes were overcooked. The Yorkshire pudding on both roasts were like rubber. The sticky toffee pudding was excellent. Overall it was a fine experience.

Mushroom pot pie was great. Nice crust, Fish and Chips were very good. Fish batter was nice and crispy

I’ve been to M&L many times and the food is always great and I’d say authentically British pub. But not their Sunday roast. Thick slab of roast beef (more like steak) and the gravy is watery. So although I like this place a lot and it’s a great neighbourhood place, I would not recommend their Sunday roast. You’re better off ordering from a la carte menu instead.

Had a reservation for a special occasion and got parked in the corner at a terrible table. Didn’t sit well at all.

The food was well portioned. However some was way too peppery (potatoes & carrots). While we were warned that there was only one server, there were only 5 tables of a preset menu. The server had a helper. No excuses for the server. Once we said no hard drinks she never came back to ask about any other possible choices. We had to ask for her to get tea. Tea was very good.

Super expensive for what it was. Oysters weren’t great. Service was really slow. We didn’t know who our actual server was because we had a different person each time, take our drink orders or food or check in on us (if anyone checked in on us). So anytime we were trying to wave someone down we weren’t sure who we were supposed to speak with. It took so long to get someone to come to the table to refill drinks that my boyfriend ended up having to go to the host stand and ask that a server be sent over. Was also super expensive for the quality of food. Overall, I would try somewhere else next time.
