Truly a legit English pub with a fantastic melding of English and Indian flavors. The chili cheese naan was awesome as was the lamb keema shepherd’s pie. The fish and chips was the best this side of the Atlantic. Our server John was great as well, as was everyone that came by our table. Highly recommend this place!

Hostesses at front were rude. We were put at a table in the corner on the top floor even though one of our people had mobility issues. The drinks were bad and half the things on the menu weren’t available. What we did order was terrible. We will not be back. Very disappointing and a waste of time and money.

Our server, Sophia, was most disinterested in offering any type of service. We had a hard time locating her to reorder drinks, as well as place an order for food. She disappeared after the dinner service and didn’t clear our table when dessert arrived. The lamb shank and butter chicken were mediocre, and the brisket burger was sub par. The only highlight of the entire meal was the sticky date pudding. Definitely not worthy of a repeat visit.

Very good food, we grabbed a lot of appetizers to try out. The venison scotch egg was delicious. Highly recommend!

We had a very nice Sunday afternoon at Monarch & Lion. We specfically went in for the Sunday supper. Our server, Joe, was delightful and knowledgable about the menu. We started with the Welsh Rarebit and the artichoke fritters. Both we very good but could have used more pretzels or a toast point, but the cheese sauce was very good. Artichoke fritters were crispy and delicious. Three of us had the prime rib and one had the lamb everything was very good. I do wish the Yorkshire pudding was bigger! We could have used sharper knives for the prime rib as well. For dessert, we had the bread pudding and sticky toffee pudding, both came with ice cream and both were really delicious. We'd all go back for sure.

My daughter and I attended the Nutcracker so made a 29:00 pm reservation. Their kitchen closes at 10:30 so I knew we were cutting it kind of close. It was no problem at all. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. My daughter order chicken Marsala which she loved. I ordered mushroom pot pie which was creamy and delicious. We shared caviar deviled eggs. There were two and so yummy.

Everything at Monarch and Lion was literally perfect. The food is out of this world, and the service is even better.

I’d been to Monarch & Lion once before, for dinner, and we were seated at a less than desirable upstairs table plunged in darkness. But the food was excellent. On this visit, at lunch time, we were one of only two tables occupied and while the server wasn’t overly friendly, the food was truly delicious. I’ll be back!
