Aloha, we are open daily from 7:00am to 11:00pm and are located on the waterfront of Waikiki Beach inside the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. We accept reservations & reserve a large amount of space for walk-ins. If your desired reservation is not available, please join our waitlist in person daily. Happy Hour is available daily from 3:30pm-5:00pm (excluding select holidays).

Our chef driven concept is led by the classically trained, award winning chef, Peter Merriman. Peter is a culinary pioneer and one of the founders of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. He has always been inspired by the people and products around him and this spirit has lead the movement to look at food in Hawaii in a new light. Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman embraces this passion!                                                                                                                   Our reservation was at 8:45 pm and it was not super busy. It was a fun, relaxed ambiance and we enjoyed the live music! The food was great for the most part. I enjoyed the macadamia crusted mahi mahi. The pizzas were good. Shrimp appetizer was only so-so (but our waiter did warn us it wasn’t the best thing on the menu - my daughter just really wanted shrimp). The service was great. I wish I remembered our waiter’s name because he was really friendly and engaging and deserves a shout out. I would definitely recommend.

                                                                                                                  We recently dined at Monkeypod Kitchen, Waikīkī, hoping for a relaxing evening out, but unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. While the food itself was acceptable, the overall experience was marred by a lack of attention to detail and coordination. To begin, we specifically requested that our appetizers be served first, with the main course to follow after we finished the appetizers. The appetizers arrived promptly, which was a good start, but just a few minutes later, our entrees were brought to the table—clearly out of sequence. We politely sent the meals back, reiterating that we’d like the main dishes served about 20 minutes later, after we finished our appetizers. However, when the mains returned, it was clear they were the same dishes that had been held in the kitchen. The food was lukewarm and unappetizing, prompting us to request fresh meals. To their credit, the kitchen re-prepared our orders, but by the time everything was sorted out, the meal had lost its flow, and the initial frustration lingered. While the staff was polite, the mismanagement of timing and communication was a significant letdown. This restaurant has potential, but they need to prioritize customer requests and improve their service execution to ensure a smoother dining experience.

                                                                                                                  Yes it is overpriced and portions are small but the atmosphere is everything you want. The live music was great and the slight view of the ocean we had at night was lovely. Excellent Christmas Day evening meal.

                                                                                                                  We loved the Monkeypox. Excellent ambience for Christmas dinner and the best food and drinks. We particularly loved the fish and chips and I had the special - a snapper with fried shrimp and cheddar polenta that was to die for. We celebrated with N/A mai tais for our family and ended the meal with the best pies and gelatos. Thank you Monkeypod for making our first Christmas away from home a special one.
