The Monk’s Kettle is a neighborhood tavern in Oakland's Rockridge district offering upscale pub fare and a broad and balanced list of craft beers, ciders, small producer wines and more.

At once a restaurant, a bar, a gathering place. The Monks Kettle is all of these, all the time, to all comers. A place where all are welcome, where the mission is simply to create a place people want to be.

Named the Best Beer Bar in California. Named one of the best Burgers and Chicken Sandwiches in the region.

            Cool place great beer selection, cool beats, a little expensive for a hamburger, but I had their chicken sandwich, which was just okay good fries though, but next time will go ahead and try the burger, oh and they have a pretty live patio seats about 35.

            So happy to have Monk's Kettle on our side of the bay! Service was absolutely excellent, vibes were good and we will def be back. This location feels a lot more family friendly than the SF spot, which might be your vibe, or maybe not. Lots of kids around, but when we were there they were all pretty chill. I think all of Rockridge is incredibly stoked to have MK here, because it can be hard to get in if you are aiming for prime time or the weekend. I recommend getting a reservation, at least until the hype wears off. It might not though. This is probably one of the coolest places in the neighborhood. We ordered the burger (which was cooked perfectly) and the chicken sando which was also super tasty. Both of us got the kale salad as a side and it had a nice variety of veggies, great flavor and wasn't over-dressed. Sometimes side salads are kind of depressing, but not this one :). Welcome to the neighborhood!

            Wonderful restaurant with fabulous neighborhood feel. The food was wonderful, the beer selection great, and the surface top notch. We sat on the patio on its opening day. It was warm and cozy and surprisingly quiet given the number of people that were there. Really looking forward to going again.

            We booked a table but decided it would be fun to sit at the bar. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. We shared ahi tuna burger and fries, but the fries were a little cold. Wish they had a full bar. That being said, we loved the energy and staff.

            We really enjoyed Monk's Kettle. I would describe it as elevated bar food. Vibe is good and service was attentive. My only complaint is the booth seats are pretty uncomfortable! Get chairs if you can. I would gladly go back.
