Montecatini is a stable for Walnut Creek as it opened October 17, 1989, the day of the Loma Prieta earthquake in California. Since then, Montecatini Ristorante has become a place for "regulars" to enjoy a true Italian dining experience. We are a loud and bustling environment where many have come to say we're like family. All our dishes are meticulously prepared with the finest and freshest ingredients. Our pastas and entrees are served piping hot from our kitchen to your table.

Montecatini has been awarded "Best of East Bay" for Best Italian Restaurant in the East Bay Area by Diablo Magazine for several years. As of January 2022 our chef, Ermes Paulin, has passed ownership down to two of Montecatini's long-time employees, Terrance and Taylor George. They plan to keep Montecatini thriving on its "old school" vibe while enhancing the cocktail and wine program. So come in and experience Montecatini for yourself and see what a true hidden gem we are!

We had a nice birthday dinner here. The food was very good and the service was great. My only problem with the menu is that you don't get a choice of a side dish. Only a boring pasta or just more veges. Would have liked more choices as the pasta included doesn't go with some of the entrees. They provided a very nice birthday dessert which was special.

Solid Italian experience. Not over priced. Place was packed and very loud. Food was enjoyable but not exceptional. A place for regulars. Service was great.

We love Montecatini. The atmosphere is old school Italian and the food is outstanding. It’s been around for a long time in Walnut Creek. If you go you’ll understand why. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic. First time here and we were not disappointed. Hands down the best Calamari Steak I have had.

I was soooo pleasantly surprised and impressed by the food, service and ambiance of this restaurant! Favorite thing had to be the fresh beef carpaccio. We had an amazing experience and can’t wait to go back!

Very tasty food. Service was slow but it was a packed night. Special treatment for my wife’s birthday. We will return to try more things from the menu.
