   Devo dire che eravamo in 13 di cui 5 bambini: siamo stati contenti che ci abbiano accettati con poco preavviso. Il locale è bello, ma lo staff non sembra in sintonia col locale. Ci sono più “capi sala”, quello che ci ha seguito è stato molto gentile e disponibile. Il servizio è stato lento. Il piatto di ostriche servito era super. Il menù è però un po’ limitato con una preferenza per il prime rib. La qualità del cibo è buona. Peccato, con un po’ più di “personalizzazione” adeguato allo stile del locale, il posto sarebbe perfetto

   Un locale in pieno centro, un bel decoro moderno, molto frequentato da persone « in loco », cucina a vista, personale efficiente, cibo buono non eccelso, troppo rumoroso con musica non adeguata alla tipologia del ristorante

   Monterey needs better staff training and a manager on-site on a Saturday night to check on the diners. However, the food at this pretty place was so good. Our busboy came by at the right time and was super helpful. But our waitress needs training. When asked about the chilled lobster appetizer, she replied It’s a regular size, and didn’t know what it cost. It would’ve been good if she just checked and came back to the table with the answers. The waitress also couldn’t get the tequila drink right and was combative when my friend asked her for some more ice and to add simple syrup. Unfortunately, there was no manager on site despite it being a Saturday night. It would have been nice to have someone to check on the 4 of us as we were ordering extensively and there for a while.

   Overall poor experience, although the design and attention to detailed aesthetic layout was outstanding. Reservation was recommended for prime rib, specified in reservation rare, they had none, and au jus was more of heavy gravy that masked meat quality, preparation and taste. Not recommended. 90% of meat was left on plate, never questioned or addressed by staff. Caeser salad was good but not enough to bring us back independently. We also had the truffle lasagna which had great favor but appeared to be precooked, reheated/grilled which took away from texture and experience. Shared berry cake for dessert, was decent but like the salad not worthy of the trip. Biggest deficit was the service and management, lack of attention by both. At less then 15% occupancy, staffing was more than sufficient to hit a home run with attention to service but stuck out. Had to ask and wait for server for initial drinks, no significant interest in customer experience and enjoyment. Had to request the check, all while staff stood in back watching the empty restaurant. Disappointing to say the least, hopefully they will make changes to bring the rest of the organization to the level of the amazing buildout and space.

   Another perfect evening at Monterrey. Service was attentive but not too much. All the food was great, and the presentation of the prime rib was spectacular. Desserts were amazing. The best part was the bar area with the doors open to spring weather. Will definately return
