The quality of the food was excellent. The hamachi and tuna pizza were excellent as was the black bass, the fried rice was the only fail, it was very bland and in need of salt I’df all things. We had an 8:30 reservation and basically closed up the restaurant. We did not understand that Honolulu closes early unlike LA or New York so if you want a good vibe go early. Service was excellent.

It was okay, food is always good but it was extremely rushed. We didn’t get the app until after the mains, and the food runner had quite an attitude about it. I’m sure it being a super busy week doesn’t help, but for the price it wasn’t awesome.

The wine selection is cheap and very limited, which is disappointing. Given Chef Morimoto's reputation, I expected much better. The food is basic and mostly tastes like typical Chinese takeout - nothing I couldn't make at home. The decor and location are nice, but it's not worth the price overall.

Went for dinner last night with a family of 5. It was so noisy I could not hear the person sitting across from me. The noise level rather ruined it for us. The food was pretty good. Decent flavor. We got the Wagyu on the stone and that was tasty. The black cod was good but seemed to be missing something. Felt food was over priced for qty but that seems to be a theme these days. Service was pretty good. Had a few times we had to wait for the server to come back but generally all were friendly and pleasant. We did get our meals at different times but guess that was bc they were so busy.

we make it a point to eat here once or even twice a trip. this last time was the best experience to date and it gets better and better with each visit. if you go request server Talis, he was the most hospitable attentive and engaging server of any restaurant in Waikiki.

Food was excellent, but the bill at the end was definitely unexpected.It would definitely have been helpful if the server had explained the minimum order requirement upfront. We thought the A5 ishiyaki was US$38, but it was 3x $38. It’s not uncommon for menu items like that to have hidden costs, but ideally, servers should make sure customers are fully informed before placing an order, especially when the prices are as high as $114 for 6 slivers of A5 wagy. Clearer communication could enhance the experience for future diners.
