Very friendly service and excellent food. Really enjoyed hamachi tacos, spicy chicken wontons, but the stand out was black pepper beef, amazing.

Food and service was fantastic. There was 3 of us dining and it is served family style (shared). We had Black Pepper Beef; Orange Chicken; Fried Rice; Chicken Won Tons and some Decadent Chocolate Dessert. Plenty of food — no leftovers. Will definitely go back.

We loved the ribs! The Waygu rib eye was average but sauce was nice. Salad was excellent! Service had new waiters.

Bad experience with a bad waiter. Complete waste of time, calories, and effort! Our waiter had a bad attitude and dismissed us when we ordered appetizers as our meal. He explained that everything came out as the kitchen made it so we may get our food out of sync - this was their policy! Well, this policy ignores the guest experience and our food came hurriedly before our water glasses were even filled. Cocktails came after our meal. My policy is never to dine at places that completely ignore the experience of the guest for the convenience of the business. Shame on you!

We dined-in last night. Ordered sticky ribs, fried rice, and fish. Food was excellent; however, Waited 45 minutes just to get an appetizer. Didn’t get the rest of our food until another 30 minutes after.

We have been to Morimoto in several other locations, multiple times- so we did not hesitate to book here for our last night in Waikiki (which happened to be my sisters birthday) We were given a great table on the Avenue and the wine we chose was well priced and terrific. The food… was totally another story. We had the hamachi tacos and ahi tuna pizza to start with edamame and they came out quickly. The tacos and the pizza were very “dressed” with sauce, onions, tomatoes, olives, micro cilantro. You almost couldn’t taste or see the fish which is sad in Hawaii (it’s the best part). We also ordered the signature miso cod and a shrimp fried rice dish. It took 30 mins to get the fried rice but the miso cod was nowhere to be found and it was another 10-15 minutes til that showed up! The hot dishes should be together. The fried rice was very greasy with shrimp that looked and tasted like they came from Costco and the miso cod (the signature dish) when it FINALLY arrived, was raw and translucent in the middle and inedible. The manager did come over and we talked with him. They did send two desserts complimentary and both were good ube cheesecake and chocolate entremet (although we are not dessert people- we tasted them and took them home) when the bill arrived we were charged for the miso cod that was totally inedible! We had to get them to amend the bill and I felt terrible for the server because it was not her fault and tipped her accordingly on the whole bill plus the dessert This particular location is NOTHING like Morimoto in Vegas or Napa, sorry. Other than a nod to the sommelier for a nice French sauv blanc…. Not coming back here, there are too many really great places to drop $250 bucks

I am always conflicted when the service/ambiance doesn’t quite meet the food quality. This was the case at Morimoto Asia. I was seated by a very kind and welcoming host. So, the experience started well. When I was seated at my table (eating alone), I was greeted with a sticky table so bad that my menu wouldn’t move atop it and my arms felt like they were in syrup. The waiter was kind but seemed very distracted and not engaged. The food was amazing. Got the saki flight, the hot n sour soup, the duck (half serving) and the flaming chocolate torte. All were amazing. I did have to ask three times for coffee. Just indicated the confusion I felt overall. So, for a Morimoto place my expectations were not quite met. I’d go back for the food and maybe sit at the bar.
