                                                          The appetizers were by far the best part of our meal. If it wasn’t such a nice restaurant I would have picked up the plates and licked them clean! We were a little upset that the 2 dishes that we were looking forward to the most based off reviews and pictures were no longer available or out of stock. The fried fish that we wanted is no longer available even though it is pictured on the walls in the restaurant. We were also excited to try the angry lobster but they said they were out of stock. As far as the ambiance it was good for a bit but then the music shut off and the rest of the night had a weird awkward silence like they were closed and waiting for us to leave. Not sure why they turned off the music. On the other hand the staff was very friendly and fun to talk to. All that being said, I’d call before going in to see if the dish you want is even available before going. Besides that I’ll probably be coming back here but I think we’ll stick to the appetizers and drinks because they were so delicious compared to the main dishes we ordered.

                                                          AWFUL! Will not return. For the last several years we would visit Morimoto and enjoy an excellent meal. Last night was a disaster. The service was slow, the drinks were weak, we and the rest of the guests sat and watched as tray after tray of food was walked through the dining area and out to an external party. It took forever to get our food, then there were long gaps between dishes. On top of the long wait, the food was poorly prepared. Some dishes were overcooked, others poorly seasoned. The staff seemed totally overwhelmed. The dining experience was awful.

                                                          Referred by some highly regarded fellow members of Waialae Country Club, we were exciting to try Morimoto first time last night. Astonishingly, instead of smiling aloha, we were greeted by an angry voice "excuse me" by a haole restaurant employee named Richard, immediately after we exited elevator to front desk of Morimoto. He repeated himself three or four times louder and louder. Our kids were scared. Although two friendly managers Kim and Vinnie came later to console us a few of times, we still question if such behavior should be tolerated in a "suppose-to-be" high end restaurant in state of Hawaii nowadays?
