Mozambique blends exotic adventure with warm hospitality, offering a menu rich with South African influences, including signature Peri-Peri prawns, wood-fired steaks, and flavorful curries. The three-story venue boasts stunning ocean views from its Veranda rooftop, elegant dining in the Durban Room, a lively music scene in the newly renovated Ivan’z House (formerly the Shebeen, updated in July 2024), and a serene garden patio.
Reservations will guarantee a table in our restaurant, but seating area is subject to availability. Please expect an additional wait for Rooftop Seating, Live Music, and other high demand areas. To book a Private Event or a specific table, a deposit will be required in addition to a food and beverage minimum, please contact our events coordinator at 949.715.7107 for pricing.

Complimentary Transportation available! 5pm and later, within Laguna Beach or a 5-10 mile radius depending on group size). For customers w/ dinner reservations only - call to schedule.

    Four of us enjoyed the sunset and happy hour menu from their rooftop bar. The food was delicious and the view was gorgeous!

    We were celebrating our anniversary, I looked on their website under specials and it listed a lobster tail dinner for 19.99. I made a reservation and called a few hours before we left and inquired if they still had that special available. They checked and said yes, they still had the lobster tail special dinner. When we arrived the server said the only special they had that night was 2 lobster tails for 29.99. We said ok, Then the manager came and said it was $48.00 for the lobster tail dinner. It felt like a bait and switch. You can’t trust what their website says!

    Had a great meal. My salmon was perfection and my wife's veg curry and samosas were excellent esp. the sauces on each.

    Exquisite Menu, GREAT Tasting Cuisine & OUTSTANDING Customer Service! The Drink Menu has a NICE Wine Selection! The waiters were frequently checking on us to refill our drinks.

    Every time we visit Laguna we have to eat at Mozambique. It never dissappoints. The menu has some unique items you can’t get everywhere. The Durban Curry is my husband’s go to dish. The service is always great too. We had Greg as our server for a second time and he’s awesome.

    Amazing experience, this is the third time going, and each time I’m greeted with excellent customer service as well as incredible food. Definitely recommend for anyone.

    It was really disappointing. I never knew who my server was, & we had to order from a pre-set menu and each course tasted like it was sitting out for hours. I was embarrassed that I chose this place for Valentines Day

    I had high hopes for Mozambique, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. It started with the host leading us to a table meant for someone else—not once, but twice. When we were finally seated, the tables were packed in pretty tightly, which made things uncomfortable, especially for someone my size (6’3”). It felt cramped from the start. The amuse-bouche came out cold, which set the tone for the rest of the meal. The service was painfully slow—we sat down at 7 PM and didn’t leave until almost 10. To make matters worse, our food arrived before a couple seated next to us, even though they had been there first. They were understandably upset and confronted the waiter, which made the whole situation awkward for us, as we felt like they were staring at us in frustration. And the food? Cold. Nothing came out warm, which just added to the disappointment. On top of that, the menu pricing was misleading—I thought the entrée was $89 for two, but it turned out to be per person. That should have been made much clearer. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience, and I won’t be coming back. There are plenty of other places in town that offer better service, clearer pricing, and food that’s actually hot.
