Originally opened as Lyons English Grille in 1945, in 2014 the building was purchased from David Lyons and after a complete renovation we re-opened in 2015 as Mr. Lyons, a homage to Mr. David Lyons.

Mr. Lyons features steakhouse classics with a modern edge. Be transported to a bygone era when jazz standards, martinis and steak ruled the day while enjoying modern luxury and innovation. A classic steakhouse with a menu that puts local small farms first, delivered with impeccable tableside service. Editors pick for best steakhouse “Palm Springs Life 2021 and 2022.” Mr. Lyons features five unique experiences/spaces: The Salon, The Lounge, The Conservatory and Terrace, The Private Dining Room, The Private Dining Patio and Seymour’s.

The marketing of this restaurant as an old time steakhouse like the “ rat pack “ would have gone to is nonsense. Perhaps once upon a time but certainly not now. The food was just good, not great, but when you go to a restaurant you are also paying for ambiance and this place is the worst. The customer demographic is shorts, beach ware hoodies and ball caps. This guy sat in his best ball cap without taking it off during the whole meal. When I arrived a half hour early for my reservation they said we couldn’t be seated and we were directed to a bar called Seymour’s, their lounge was b00ked up apparently, Seymour’s was a rough hewn really casual bar like a bikers bar and we were dressed up because this was a traditional “rat pack” steakhouse. I have seen better dressed people at the beach

We sat outside for dinner and were worried that it would be too cold. But the heaters were perfect. Dinner was very good and t was very quiet and relaxing.

Had dinner at **Mr. Lyons Steakhouse**, and the service was amazing—friendly and attentive. The New York Strip was delicious, but I didn’t care for the chimichurri and returned it. The “handrolls” were disappointing—tiny nori pieces that fell apart and needed a fork to eat. Great steak, but the handrolls missed the mark!

This is one of the best dining experiences we have had in our 5 years in Palm Springs. For an elevated restaurant (which I include a handful of locations) my husband and I say Mr Lyons is at the apex. From the selection of food and wine to the ambience and friendly wait staff, this was an all-round enjoyable meal. We were not rushed. We dined outside in a quiet corner near the fire. Our server was diligent in making sure my husband’s meal was gluten-free (there were several choices). Come here for a special night out. You won’t be disappointed!

Unfortunately our meal was a thorough disappointment. The dishes we chose were strange concoctions, I found them confused concepts and flavour combinations. Save for the redeeming dish of French onion soup, which seemed to have stayed reasonably true to the classic recipe, thankfully. My guest, however, didn’t have the same experience with what should have been another classic dish of steak tartare. Overall the culinary experience was very poor value for money. We didn’t eat steak, so perhaps the steaks really are great.

Brianna’s service was brilliantly perfect! We arrived early to enjoy a cocktail, highly recommend to do the same. Dinner was excellent, cuts were superb, temps just right, shareable accompaniments. Don’t skip dessert! Martinis of course!

Overall good a little disappointed in service after we left the restaurant. Received a call regarding signed bill that felt unnecessary.

We wanted this to be an updated take on the classic steak house experience, and the vibe hits that mark, but unfortunately all of the food we tried was mediocre at best. The slow roasted prime rib was bland and boring. Even the fries were flavorless. We were left disappointed and it did not feel like a $/250 experience.
