A Family Tradition For Over 90 Years

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes.

Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.

Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. Thank you in advance for understanding and we are in this together.

A trip to Knott’s isn’t complete without getting dinner at the Knott’s chicken restaurant. Good food and service in a fun location. Try the apple pit too.

Very good caring service from Omar and the food value and quality was outstanding. We actually had dinner at home tonight with all the left overs! We will be back (my fried chicken is just as I remember from my childhood). Thank you!!

Our server was very sweet and took care of us but the meal itself was just ok. Mrs. Knotts is very nostalgic for my dad, so I took him for his 84th birthday. The chicken was okay; it was crispy but I do agree with other reviewers about the oil it was fried in was likely not fresh. The mashed potatoes were gummy. The corn was.. well.. it was canned corn. The salad and the soup were pretty good. The pie was good as well. We’ve satisfied the nostalgic desire, I don’t think we will be back. For the price of the meal, I expected better.

We received fantastic service, the waitress was excellent and helped contribute to a nice dinner for our son’s birthday dinner! The food was excellent as well!

The restaurant, ambiance, and service is GREAT. We truly enjoyed the whole afternoon. We ordered Mrs. Knotts Chicken meal and it did not disappoint. All the fixins and dessert to boot. The only thing is that the chicken was a bit overdone and not as juicy as we would have hoped. That was my only slight commentary.

Great biscuits and soup. Unfortunately that was it! The chicken had a taste of reused oil and lacked flavor. Chicken pieces were small and chewy. The chicken pot pie was all dough with maybe 3 small bites of chicken. A frozen Marie calendars pot pie from the market is better and much cheaper! Quality has really gone down in the last few years. Definitely not what it used to be! So disappointing!

We have a wonderful dinner tonight. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious and plentiful. The prices were absolutely reasonable.

We love Mrs Knotts kitchen, been going there for years. Perfect place for comfort food , delicious drinks and pie! Celebratory atmosphere. Enjoy!

This is no longer the wonderful meal it once was when the Knott family still ran the business. Our server was excellent and so was the bartender however the fried chicken dinner and side dishes were not as good as supermarket food under a heat lamp. Very disappointing!

Our server Tony was wonderful!! The portions are huge so my husband and I split the fried chicken dinner and it was more than enough:)
