Dagli editor di OpenTable: Il team formato da moglie e marito Michelle Karr-Ueoka e Wade Ueoka si è formato nelle cucine stellate da Napa a New York prima di tornare a casa per aprire quello che Eater definisce uno dei ristoranti più imperdibili di Honolulu. L'ampio spazio al secondo piano ha una grande e vivace sala da pranzo in cui gustare piatti hawaiani come il kampachi in crosta di mochi e gli slider di manzo wagyu su panini mochi fatti in casa. E non saltare i pluripremiati dessert di Karr-Ueoka, come il mango shave ice.

Drop off and entrance to the restaurant and valet parking is from Kapiolani Blvd make a right at the Mercedes Benz sign and go straight down to the end of the lane and then turn up the ramp. Parking on the ground level in the MW Valet only stall is prohibited and subject to be towed away at the owner expense.

We came here to celebrate our 27th anniversary and as expected, MW did not disappoint. We started off with the Calamansi spritzes, Caesar salad and dumplings. The lettuce was crispy and fresh and the flavors of the anchovies, dressing and croutons were amazing. My husband blew his mind over the flavor of his scallops and seafood rice. And he raved about my Kampachi. We ate every morsel. It was his first time to MW and he said it was possibly the best meal prep experience he's had. Our server was attentive, informative and gave us great recommendations. He was also relaxed and friendly and the entire staff anticipated our needs. I'm so glad the hostess told us what her favorite dessert was, the Strawberry Shave Ice. It's now my favorite too! We also ended the evening with the brûlée, coffee and the complimentary chocolate cake. We look forward to coming back! Thank you for making our 27th anniversary dinner such a perfect night. As we looked around the restaurant, it seemed all the other guests were smiling and happy as well. Mahalo nui, Kawehi and Corey Apo P.S. we also liked the furniture

The valet service was efficient. The check-in process efficient (we arrived 15 minutes early but they still sat us immediately), and we had a large table right near the kitchen where we could see them diligently preparing the dishes. Everything from the appetizers, salad, and main course was excellent. The cocktails were excellent. And finally the dessert was beyond excellent. My favorite restaurant in Honolulu.

MW Restaurant is our overall favorite restaurant to enjoy a great dinner that is consistently excellent, with every staff member doing everything they can to make it a pleasant experience. Whenever we have asked for a small adjustment, such as the additional spoonful of Caesar salad dressing that would make my salad "just right," our waiter was happy to bring it. He even brought me a little more simple syrup to add to my virgin mojito so it would be perfect for my taste. I highly recommend the short ribs with truffle topping and veggies. It is surrounded by a scrumptious puddle of the most delicious sauce ~ perhaps an herb/truffle/beef-broth reduction(?). It is hard to describe, but absolutely delicious! For dessert, my husband's favorite is the brulée with the lilikoi sorbet and gummy-cubes, pearl tapioca, and pineapple bits. Heavenly! Our other favorite is the MW chocolate cake, served with a small "football-shaped" vanilla ice cream ("quenelle" in French). We will be back again, of course!

Never fail to provide the top-quality food and service! Celebrated 25th wedding anniversary dinner 10 years ago and last night was 35! Such a memorable time and can't wait to go back soon!

The kampachi and roast beef special were good, but the highlights were the seafood chowder and the side of young corn.
