                                                                          Nan’s is a wonderful, white table cloth, first class service restaurant. The cocnut soup with lobster is outstanding!

                                                                          has always been one of my favorite restaurants until last night. started with asking for a table that included a bench style seat on one side. hostess turned to server and said that she should take us. we were led to a table with 4 chairs. i asked about the bench and was told that they were all reserved. there were 6 empty units at the time and upon completion of the meal, 2 of them were still empty. i understand scheduling, but when i asked, the hostess should have at least explained something rather than just sending us to a table that i didn't enjoy. next, the menu is filled with "MP" stickers over the prices (market price). i asked about the special. when i asked the price, i was told it was around $90 but couldn't say for sure since it was market price. I always get the braised lamb shank, and while i know that there are variants that are sometimes beyond the control of the kitchen, this night the dish was extremely tough and dry. very disappointing. when the check came, they added the mandatory tip of 20%. I usually add more than that when i dine anywhere, and much more than that when i've dined at NAN (just ask alex, he knows me well). but i haven't heard of any restaurants adding in the tip for a party of four. i left the restaurant feeling cheated. very very sadly, i won't be returning.

                                                                          This restaurant was very nice and gave a good experience, however the charges were unexpected on the bill. They constantly upsell you on specials with “MP”. The market price is far beyond what one would expect. Also, 2 appetizer tower ordered but they decided we wanted 2 double orders. Overall, I expected a bill around $700 for 8 people, but the bill exceeded this total by hundreds of dollars. Tip was also included at a table of 4. Ambience nice. Taste good. But honestly not THAT good. Would not recommend.

                                                                          From the moment we arrived until we left the experience was great! The mixed drinks were very good. The soup was awesome. The entrees were wonderful. My only complaint is that the iced tea was very weak. This is an Atlanta treasure that residents and out-of-town visitors should experience again and again.
