Nestled in beautiful Fort Tryon Park in upper Manhattan, steps from the acclaimed Cloisters Museum, the New Leaf Restaurant & Bar serves a contemporary American farm to table menu.
New Leaf serves lunch Tuesday through Friday, weekend brunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday evenings.

Presented by COFFEED: Our mission is to provide superior products at competitive prices, while keeping charitable giving at the forefront of all we do. We roast our own coffee, bake our own pastries, and through our partnership with the Brooklyn Grange, source much of our produce from the acre-sized roof of our flagship location in Long Island City, Queens.

Traveled from New Jersey and arrived at the restaurant when it opened at 12pm. There were absolutely no parking spaces available. Was about to pull into a handicapped space when an employee pulled in without a handicapped placard and put a New Leaf Placard in the window. My friend pulled in across the street. We went into the restaurant and inquired about the parking situation, the host was so rude to us and told us to wait outside and be patient until someone left or walk 1/2 mile down the road. I am handicapped, that is not an option. Also those parking spots 1/2 mile down the road were all taken anyway. The host was so rude and then just blurted out that he doesn't drive and we should talk to the Parks Department. The next day a manager called me to explain that the parking situation was beyond their control. So why couldn't the snotty host simply explain that when we were there? The manager told me that I was equal to the rude host because in my factual review about the parking situation, I hadn't mentioned that I had a good meal and service. Then I realized why the snotty host felt it was OK to be rude to customers because the manager was admonishing me for writing facts!!! I have never worked in a place where your host and manager can be rude to customers and expect them to return and write a glowing review. DONT GO THERE!!!!

Tragically mediocre food and embarrassingly overpriced. Every time I've been here, the service has also been slow and confused. I live nearby and spend a lot of time in the park--it's a shame that this public concession isn't better run so that the community can make better use of their gorgeous location. I had the worst bloody mary I've ever had in my life here, and the cheese plate is also a crime against cheese. I advise visitors to the Cloisters to check out the small wine bars around the base of the park for good food at better prices.

Regretfully, we had a lousy time at Easter Dinner. Service was slow, but that would be understandable on a busy holiday. There were eight of us. Drinks were very slow, at least one never came. Seven of us had finished our meal when the eighth meal arrived (a simple burger). I love Fort Tryron Park, and always thought of The New Leaf as a little gem of a spot. It still is, but we are very unlikely to eat here again. Our server was nice, and I do not blame him, but overall this meal was a mess, made worse because I had told our guests what a great spot The New Leaf was.

Wonderful atmosphere. Beautiful park surrounding it. Beautiful stone building. Excellent food. Definitely worth a visit.

Reservation for 2 on sun at 1:30 to cap off weekend in the city after touring cloisters..we arrived very early but Maitre d’ appeared to have no interest I trying to seat us early and appeared to forget about us til we reminded him. Nonetheless we were seated at our reserved time. Waiter very good and pleasant. They were “out of” Pinot Grigio (?). Both had eggs Benedict which were fine but hollandaise had no lemon tang to it. Roasted potatoes were excellent very flavorful. Very noisy until crowd thinned at end of meal. We were seated at high top table in bar. Next time I would request proper table in main room. Would definitely go back because overall was enjoyable

Had reservations for 1:00 p.m. lunch on a Saturday - for 2. We were stuck in traffic and it was very frustrating not being able to speak to a live person to let them know. Everything automated - with leaving messages the only option. Restaurant was extremely crowded. We ordered wine - pino grigio and chardonnay. Server came back and said they were out of pino grigio so i opted for the chardonnay which was good. My cousin odered Salmon off the specials menu. Server came back and said they just ran out of Salmon. This is again 1 o'clock when the restaurant had just recently opened. The restautant was very noisy and stuffy. Other people complained and once they put the ceiling fans on - and took off the wrap from the doors to open one - it got comfortable. Now, with this said... the staff was excellent. They were short staffed, but were extremely pleasant and professional. When asked if there was another fish to replace the salmon we were told no, but then our server came back after speaking to the chef and she was accomodated. Our server was wonderful and empathetic to our few disappointments. We chalked it up to everyone having cabin fever and wanting to be out to enjoy the beautiful day. Although this trip was a bit disappointing, I will certainly try it again.

I love this restaurant tucked away in NYC’s Fort Tryon Park. Country European atmosphere overlooking the Hudson River complete with botanical gardens. Food is great too!
