Since the opening of their acclaimed Restaurant Nicholas in 2000, Chef Nicholas Harary and his wife, Melissa, modernized the concept of fine dining. This mainstay of Red Bank garnered some of the industry’s highest praise, including 15 straight years as Zagat’s highest-rated restaurant in New Jersey, a 4-star review in the New York Times, and a position on several national “best restaurant” lists.

Now, with Barrel & Roost, the couple strips off the white tablecloths and serves up a bold new menu: made-from-scratch food that’s crazy-delicious, yet entirely accessible any night of the week.                                                                                         I had a delicious swordfish dinner. The sides are amazing. Our friend had suckling pig which soooo good. Cocktails ,two bottles of wine and after dinner drinks were the perfect combo!!

                                                                                        Excellent fun night … fist off manager and 2 hostess greeted us. We were early so asked can we grab a drink at the bar. Of course they said asked our preference of rooms ..which was nice .. Bartender was so friendly and made a great drink bar was lively.. Lauren our server was a pro she knew the wine list and menu . She made great suggestions .. Salad was unreal could feed 5 . They were busy but did not rush us .. All team members were exceptional. Only issue , most dinners were neatly dressed , one guy in sweatpants and hat on backwards.. I mean this is an upscale restaurant not the gym . Thanks again for a great night

                                                                                        My Mom’s chicken appetizer was over cooked and un-appetizing. We both ordered the swordfish and they were both undercooked- one was pink inside. Disappointing so don’t think we will be back any time soon. Our server was very kind.
