Located in downtown Cincinnati across from the Aronoff Center, Nicholson’s is a restaurant and bar serving fine food and drink in a genuine Scottish tavern setting. Taking inspiration from the public houses found throughout Great Britain, our goal is to provide our guests with authentic hospitality and a brilliant dining experience. In addition to high-quality food, we offer a wide variety of beer, wine, and spirits featuring one of the best selections of single malt scotch whiskies in the area. Our family of restaurants has grown in recent years to include two new concepts: Horse & Barrel Bourbon House and the Backstage Event Center located next door from Nicholson's Pub. Horse & Barrel is an award-winning whiskey bar with 100+ whiskeys and bourbons, specialty cocktails, craft beers, small bites and a friendly bourbon-loving staff. The Backstage Event Center is a private event venue hosting rehearsal dinners, weddings, cocktail parties, corporate events and more.

                                                                                              Our favorite place to eat before a show at the Aronoff. Delicious chicken sandwich with caramelized onions and garlic aioli. We shared carrots, fries and the flash fried Brussels sprouts - so good. Hubby had the fish sandwich which he enjoyed. We shared the Bourbon Creme Brûlée- snarfed it right up! So good!

                                                                                              We visited Nicholson’s’ before attending a show at the Aronoff. The food and service were very good and it was a very enjoyable casual meal with moderate prices. The only issue is that sometimes drinks ordered from the bar are extremely slow in coming as we have experienced this almost every time we visit. Most certainly not a reason to not visit here but wish the establishment could make improvements on this element of their service. But we will definitely return.

                                                                                              Had the whiskey, chicken, smallest piece of chicken I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Also, server was not attentive, barely came around.

                                                                                              We went to Nicholson’s prior to a show at the Aronoff center. I had called for reservations and tables were filled but they had counter seating available. Our waiter, Jasper, was very friendly and knowing we had to get to a show was very quick with the drinks and dinner. I had the Kentucky hot brown which was absolutely delicious and my husband had the pot roast which he didn’t think was as tender as it could’ve been but he did eat every bite. We’ll definitely go back

                                                                                              Food was delicious! Every bite a delight to the tastebuds. I had the Cock-a-Leekie soup and the Chicken Schnitzel…such a delightful burst of flavor. True artistry!

                                                                                              Hadn’t been to Nicholson’s in years despite having Broadway Series tickets. It was exactly as I remembered and what I expected. Good, solid Scottish-American tavern food. I had the special - BBQ Brisket over Mac n Cheese topped with onion straws. The flavor was good but the brisket was very tough to even cut let alone chew. My husband’s fish n chips were delicious! Service was outstanding. Our server was knowledgeable, helpful and efficient.

                                                                                              Second time to go recently be for our Broadway show across the street. Love the show menu that is added for fun. Great and efficient service, quality food and cocktails. Bar atmosphere is unique and fun. Will definitely recommend and return.
