No.1 Whitstable is a small family run, dog friendly restaurant serving an array of small & large sharing plates, steaks and the best breakfast you’ll find here in Whitstable.

Our menus are constantly changing and adapting to give our guests the best flavour combinations in each dish. We also offer a small but perfect wine, cocktail, spirit & beer menu!

We can cater for any dietary requirements just let us know when you book.

No.1 has been in Whitstable for over 2 years now and have catered for many private events and dinners.

5 for lunch at No.1 Whitstable. We all really enjoyed our dining experience. Food was excellent, environment too. Pork Belly Skewers, Duck Cottage Pie, Moules, Braised Spring Beans, Parmesan Fries, Cheesy Beans On Toast were all delicious. Would have marked our visit outstanding but unfortunately our waiter let the team down. She was probably having a bad day (as we all do) but came across very unfriendly, to have been a little more cheerful would have made all the difference. Definitely recommend No.1 Whitstable and look forward to returning another day. Many thanks.

Having studied the menu for dinner online it was slightly disappointing that that was not what was offered. Chicken Kief for instance. Nevertheless, a meal served was pleasant and half the price the Oyster Company restaurant. It was pointed out that Service was not included and 10% tip was offered.. however the waitress said the tip couldn’t be included when taking the credit card but had to be arranged separately. I should think the staff need to have a word with the patron to get that sorted out as I certainly wasn’t going to go to any further trouble in giving a generous tip. She received nothing.

Our new menu was launched on the evening you dined so was updated just before we started dinner service. It has been posted on our social media account for a few days prior to updating on here, google and our website. Tips and gratuity is not included as standard as we feel that you should only tip if you think your service was worth it. We do have a separate card machine for tips provided to us by a company called Just Tips which means the staff can keep track of their own tips and how much they earn. It makes everything more transparent for everyone. We also accept cash tips which are divided each shift. I apologise if this wasn't made clear enough when paying the bill. From what i remember overall you enjoyed your experience so i hope we can welcome you back soon.

Lovely food However my chair felt like it was jutting out didn’t feel the table fitted the space felt alittle uncomfortable The food was very nice staff polite

We’ve started coming down for late Sunday lunches this winter. It’s a perfect thing on a wintery afternoon. Delicious roast, with huge home made Yorkshire pudding. Or things like a good steak with hispi cabbage if you’re feeling less greedy. Delicious.

Great Sunday roast, between us we had beef, lamb and chicken, cooked perfectly. Dog friendly. Nice relaxed family feel.

Many times we have had an amazing breakfast at no’1. This time we went for a Sunday roast, it was just as delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and served hot. There was 6 of us dining at no’1 and nothing was too much trouble. Great food, great staff, great restaurant. Be back soon.
