Situated in a glass conservatory overlooking the River Walk, Ocho serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night snacks indoors and on our breezeway. Ocho has created a menu rooted in the hotel’s pan-Latin cultural influences from Mexico, Cuba and Texas. The cocktail menu highlights the tequila of the hotel’s San Antonio roots with the rum of its Cuban namesake, with a love for old school recipes and, when the occasion calls, the simple satisfaction an ice cold Michelada. Food was tasty but the portions were tiny, especially for the price. Service was apathetic and rushed, possibly because Valentine’s Day reservations required pre-payment, which already included 20% gratuity. Courses came out quickly and then we were kicked out of the restaurant when all diners were asked to leave after dessert to get champagne outside the steps of Havana Hotel, even though hotel bar was unavailable due to a closed private event—an unfriendly end to our evening. Will not be returning.

I’ve now been to Ocho four times. The drinks are too expensive and the food is mediocre. The service was good at this time from peaches she’s awesome.

From the moment we got there it was really bad service I booked for my birthday reservation and the front check in girl did not wanna let me in because of having a small birthday cake , then we were able to have our cake there . We sat down and it was so embarrassing the waiter we had short guy with a beard was really rude he tipped himself 15$ each ticket and there were 6 people and he never once was a good waiter he would get annoyed when we had questions. He never came to help us out we did not get to order till they were closing . I will never come back.

The Ocho is an amazing location right on a quite part of the Riverwalk! We had the pozole verde, black bean hummus, and the Mussels. All were absolutely delicious! Best mussels by far! 10 out of 10!
