   I ran across this place on TikTok. Made a reservation with high hopes. The restaurant at 1130 was not as crowded as I was expecting. Getting seated with my party, there seemed to be a level of hurried was about placing the order, again, odd as they weren’t busy. I ordered a Bloody Maria and wasn’t impressed. I also think I might have ordered the wrong thing. Which was the Chiliquilles Torta, and it was mediocre. We also ordered dessert, with only three options the server wasn’t I treated in really offering it but we ordered the tree kecges and flan, again it was just ok. I was never offered to order another drink. Nor would there be an offer to bring another bottle of water. Once the bill was paid it was as if we were taking up valuable space, and they were barely starting to fill up with more guests. I really wanted to like this place but it fell short .

   We had an absolutely fabulous dinner here! Drinks at restaurants are often watered down, but not these—our margaritas were made from scratch with no mixer, and they were excellent. We started with the ceviche and a bowl of guacamole. Both were incredibly fresh, vibrant, and flavorful. My husband and I both had our eyes on the mushroom enchiladas, which were chef’s kiss. The mole sauce was rich and complex. Our server suggested that one of us try the new veggie tacos instead. I took her advice, and I’m so glad I did. I’m a taco aficionada, and these were hands down the best restaurant tacos I’ve ever had. Our dinner companions ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas, both of which were perfectly cooked and generous enough for leftovers. Then came dessert… I usually don’t like tres leches cake, but I tasted some and actually really enjoyed it. I ordered the flan, and WOW—out of this world! I savored every single bite. Flan is often treated as an afterthought on Mexican menus, but this one was elevated and exceptional. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with authentic flair. It’s a bit loud inside due to the acoustics, but they also have a charming outdoor seating area I’d love to try on a warmer day. In addition to the restrooms, there is also a lounge upstairs, which was quieter (though I hear after hours there's a live DJ) but cold. My only gripes: the restrooms are upstairs, and while there is an elevator, I was directed to the stairs when I asked. Also, the chairs at the tables aren’t friendly to curvier bodies - my hips got stuck trying to sit, and when I stood up, the chair came with me! Overall, 10/10 - even though it's a heck of a drive for us, we will definitely go back!

   We just moved to the area from Austin, Texas and we were so pleasantly surprised by Ometeo. The food was better than many of the Tex Mex restaurants we used to frequent, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Vibes were great, food was delicious, margaritas were flowing- the whole family enjoyed it and we can’t wait to go back!

   Finally—brunch with the girls without the gluten worry! This weekend I had brunch at Ometeo, and it was such a great experience. As someone with celiac, I’m always cautious when eating out, but their staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about gluten-free needs. I’m also very thankful I didn’t get sick—always a big deal when dining out with celiac! We had the ceviche, oysters, and lobster tostada to start. The ceviche and oysters were fresh and delicious. The tostada had great flavor, but the tortilla was a bit soft—I would’ve liked it a little crispier. For mains, the steak and eggs were tasty. The corn tortillas had good flavor too, but they cooled off pretty quickly. Overall, the food was delicious, the vibe was relaxed, and I felt well taken care of. Definitely looking forward to coming back for dinner soon!

    Great vibe and beautiful TexMex restaurant. Friendly and efficient server and team. Enjoyed great drinks and excellent dinner with a friend. Highly recommend this place!
