                                                                                  Chicken penne pasta with white wine cream sause & honey glazed duck breast--both excellent. Not knowing our schedule for the day--we were ab le to get seated at opening instead of 6:30--what a great help!

                                                                                  Opal is close to many performing arts venues and generally a good place to eat before or after a show. In this instance, service was polite but slow (this was an early seating and restaurant was not full), and our food (simple salads) came out after 45 minutes-even after we told our servers we had a time issue. My wine and meal were also not up to the standards of this generally reliable bistro.

                                                                                  Quite a classy restaurant and good value for money. We shared a pizza. It was enough for two and a bit different from the usual pizza varieties. Good wine list and very good prices. The servers were very polite and attentive. We will come back.

                                                                                  Food and service were very good. The risotto with mushrooms was excellent along with the Caprese salad. The Prosecco and specialty drinks were amazing love going to this restaurant when we get the opportunity to do so.

                                                                                  Our first visit to the restaurant was pleasant. The food had a good presentation and was good. We had strawberry cheesecake for dessert, and it was great. Overall, I thought it was good and would visit again. Note: parking was a little difficult for us as it was our first time in downtown Santa Barbara, so give yourself some time to find parking if you have reservations.
