Forged from the fires of Covington, Ky. Opal is a casual, chef-driven, fine-dining restaurant that offers wood-fired grilled foods, craft cocktails, and a curated wine menu using locally focused products. The menu, developed by the company's culinary director, Chef Eric Polhamus, features Contemporary American dishes. Opal is the third restaurant installment in the portfolio of Bill and Morgan Whitlow. Opals are known to be the stone that represents justice, harmony, protection, love and passion. Just like the gemstone, Opal Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is different from every angle you approach it from. Patrons will enjoy a 360-degree backdrop of downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky or dine indoors as the flames from the unique Grillworks grill reflect off of the bar.                                                   For the price, my wife and I were not impressed. The steak didn't really have any flavor at all. My drink order was wrong but they made it right. We didn't leave impressed, we left thinking, we could have gotten a much better meal for a fraction of the price. The staff made us feel rushed to finish our plates, likely because they need the turnover but we definitely were not "sitters". We were there 1 hour and had 3 courses and the second I we were done with our plates, or almost done, they were asking to take it. The atmosphere and roof top area is nice but we were not impressed with the meal.

                                                  We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Opal. We attended their New Year’s Eve special menu, and enjoyed their craft cocktails. Can’t wait to try their regular menu! While the weather was nasty outside, we were warm and cozy inside.

                                                  Bill and Morgan have an amazing restaurant! The NYE menu was incredible! Always a great date night when we go there!

                                                  Amazing dinner. The duck breast was a perfect medium rare and paired amazingly with the wheatberry hominy. A delight on the taste buds!

                                                  Great low key location that feels very exclusive for couples, families, and small groups. Excellent Steak for 2! Don’t miss out on the dessert either, they are fab.

                                                  Absolutely delicious elevated food! Gorgeous views of Covington and downtown Cincy. Great place for a date night! Also, they did such a great job with my gluten allergy. I had the burger, and it was truly a gourmet burger. I have eaten here several times and all dishes have been fantastic! This place will be on repeat!!
