West Malling, widely considered the gastro-capital of the Maidstone area, offers a wide range of restaurants and Pad Thai is it’s finest South East Asian offering, tempting in diners from across the South East. One of the reasons could be the combination of olde worlde Tudor building and traditionally inviting Thai inspired décor, another could be the warm welcome and excellent service but undoubtedly the main draw would be the unsurpassed food. Created by a team with a history serving the Thai Royal family, the traditional dishes are authentic and delicious, made with excellent, fresh ingredients.

A lovely little restaurant that serves great food but compared to its peers it’s a little expensive. The waiting staff are very attentive but over powered by the owner who at times came across grouchy verging on rude to the staff and customers. The restaurant is small but cosy the only down side is you feel a little hemmed in but it’s not noisy. Overall the negatives are outweighed by good food so worth a visit, just don’t upset the owner!

Pad Thai is our favourite Thai restaurant. The food and service is outstanding. The owner Manta always takes the time to speak to people on each table. She is very passionate about her food. My husband and I always make sure we have room for the amazing Kanom Tuoy pudding, it is by far the best pudding we have tasted, even our teenage boys love it. We highly recommend going.

Manta was very hospitable. The food was lovely and we enjoyed the special dessert a lot. Unfortunately one table was exceptionally noisy and made it difficult to have a conversation. Best to request customers to be courteous of others.

We booked a table for Valentines having dined here before with a positive experience. Unfortunately on this occasion there was only a set menu available and in the time we spent there other people left because of this. The food was nice but a part from the starter the rest of the menue was placed on the table at the same time leaving very little room to eat. To finish the meal you only had a choice of either a sweet or coffee/tea so we chose the sweet only to be served with two scoops of what tasted like cheap ice cream. This was a very negative ending to our meal which was a real shame as we had been looking to repeat our first experience but this just wasn't the case.

I have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants and I can honestly say this has been the most disappointing of them all . Very watery food and so bland none of the lovely spices and flavours you expect from good Thai food . Had the valentines set menu. Very expensive for the tiny portions as well . Definitely won’t be back

Service very slow, food good but yeah felt kind of rushed once food came out. Not the best. Also told had to book dessert if we wanted dessert, how would we know that?!
