   We had a disappointing experience at this hotel. Despite the restaurant being advertised as operational on the website, it was not open. No one contacted us to inform us of this, which resulted in a wasted trip. The hotel was practically empty, and while one staff member was helpful, the others were either nowhere to be found or more interested in chatting amongst themselves. The café area was also unattended. Ultimately, we left and went to a nearby hotel that provided a much better and more professional experience.

   Food was outstanding. Staff were polite and friendly and very attentive. The decor was lovely and the ambiance relaxed and friendly.

   Was advised it would be approx. 15-20 minute wait before our food order was taken. Was OK with this. The took 70 minutes for us to actually get any food to the table. Within this time several other customers had come in been seated close to us and served a lot quicker then us, with having to watch them eat. Unsure what had gone on but no apologies and service charged applied to the bill. Stupidly paid it because I flet sorry for the staff. In my opinion had too many functions on and not enough staff.

   Loved every minute of the experience. Food was excellent, room was grand and service was great. I’ve done many afternoon teas and this is close to the top of my list. A little more filling in the sandwiches and it probably would make top spot.

   Had to find a table ourselves as no one came to show us a table while waiting at the entrance. Took ages to get served. Food took a long time to arrive. Food was cold. Brought wrong bill. Would not go back

   Initially we were turned away as we had not made a reservation, so we went into the bar and booked on line, when we came into the restaurant the manager appeared to be very unhappy about the fact that we had booked. We waited 20 minutes before our order was taken, then another 30 minutes before food was delivered. Two burgers and two steaks were ordered. The burgers were fine, the steaks were terrible, we requested medium rare they turned up over cooked. The waiter took them away. Eventually the manager came over and asked if we wanted something else he was very dismissive about the whole thing not even an apology. We didn't bother reordering in fear of the same thing happening again.

   Found the food to be poor unfortunately, they didn’t have any Diane sauce so they made me some but it tasted like thousand island, thousand island does not go with fillet steak but I do appreciate them trying, the dining room does not look as lovely as it does on the photograph and no atmosphere, will not be returning.

   Food was tasty though a little over priced . Ambience was poor and staff seemed a bit distracted at times. Overall an average dining experience

    We were there for afternoon tea which was ok. Have been before when we thought it was a very special experience, however this time didn't think that, it was very mediocre.
