   The food was delicious, and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The portions were rather small for the price, and the piped in music was rather too loud, making conversation hard.

   The food at Pelato was great—creative, flavorful small plates that really delivered. The kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing, and if we were rating on food alone, it would be an easy recommendation. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the food. Our server was slow and inattentive, and when she asked how things were going, it felt like she was just going through the motions—no real interest or engagement. We had to remind her about one of our drinks, and the birthday gesture (a sparkler stuck in a napkin) felt lazy and impersonal. With so many restaurants in the city offering both amazing food and warm, attentive service, Pelato just didn’t leave a strong impression. We walked away disappointed, and wouldn’t go back based on the service alone.

   Good morning Christian. Love to hear that you enjoyed the food and that we really delivered on the quality. I'm sorry to hear there was any concern around the service or that you felt we were going through the motions. I'm glad to hear your server was checking in on you, asking about your experience, and provided a candle to acknowledge a birthday at the table. I'm not sure what part about that comes across as lazy or impersonal, as that would be the expected feedback if somebody failed to do a candle or acknowledge the occasion at all. Nonetheless, I'll be sure to share your feedback with your server with the highest hopes that we can pinpoint an area to make guests such as yourselves feel the best about our service.    Pelato is our favorite Nashville restaurant. The service is always excellent and the food, well the food is absolutely delicious. We love the small plates/sharing concept because it allows us to you to try so many wonderful menu items. Don’t skip the cauliflower piccata. It is so good.

   Everytime we go to Pelato the food and dining experience is always amazing. Our server was attentive and very sweet, with great recommendations for the table. The drinks were strong and delicious and the food & desserts were next level. We had a group of 7 people and ordered around 15 dishes, it was the perfect amount of food! We cannot wait to come back.

    Oh Brian! Them's fighting words! Our Vodka sauce has been called a number of things... "epic" "orgasmic" "life changing".... but "pedestrian"?!? Any time you want, you bring your Vodka sauce into our kitchen to go toe to toe with Chef Vic and we'll see who's got the "hyper." - mic drop - Pelato OUT!
