Dined Sat eve Jan 25 before symphony nearby. We are regulars at their other bistro Batifol and bakery in Cambridge which we adore. (They even made an incredible grand marnier soufflé for my husband’s birthday.) The menu here was similar and classic French bistro dishes — I had beef bourguignon on a very cold evening. Perfect with flavorful wine reduction. Sweet waitress. The decor is traditional Parisian-style bistro, different than Batifol which is more modern French, but equally lovely. There is both a narrow restaurant room and a smaller bar room with small tables and cute bar. The main complaint is the greeter/host. The bar room had a nice vestibule but the greeter left it wide open so it was cold outside. The 6 diners in our area all complained. This greeter said the handle was broken and that was the only solution. I asked to shut the door! He finally did while acting inconvenienced. Rude. The friendly diners near the window simply motioned to anyone who tried the handle to put their finger in the hole to open. No problem. Meanwhile the greeter is standing right next to the door and can’t be bothered while diners are freezing. Our meal was about $200 with excellent Boudreaux wine. It was ridiculous to have the vestibule door open on a cold January night. I hope the owner reads this and speaks to this greeter. Tall with black hair. Sat 1/25 6pm bar table.

Service was slow, although there was only one waitstaff taking orders for about 30 patrons. Several of us had tickets for a nearby event within 2 h. My table ordered only 2 courses, but a nearby table of 4, that arrived after us and ordered a 3 course dinner, was served and left before us. Food was fine, but not as delectable as expected from menu descriptions.

I went for my birthday to Petit Robert! The food was incredible! The oysters were fantastic! Our server Billy was incredible! He made us feel very comfortable and was very personable! I can’t wait to come back!

I have not been to Petit Robert for a couple of years and the food and service remain the same at high quality. My friend and I had a wonderful lunch. The only minor criticism was that one of the waitresses was loud. I could hear her from 3 tables away. Given the cozy dining room it could seem a little jarring. Her service was good. It is just the awareness of noise level she needs to become more aware of. My Fromage salad was light and tasty as I expected. Since it was not crowded, they made sure to place us a couple of tables away from other patrons. Very thoughtful. I will go back again in 2025!

Haven't been to PR in many years and the experience, for the price, was lacking on all fronts.... food, service, price ambience. Perhaps because it is now part of 3 restaurants, idk.

Food here is always excellent, special dinners (like this) are typically outstanding. We enjoyed every course and the wine pairings were excellent.
