I was really looking forward to visit the restaurant as the menu online looked amazing, but when I arrived on site the menu had 3/4 different dishes. I wanted to go for the 10 courses but because of this change and some of the dishes not being in my likings I opted for 6 courses. Now let’s come to the gimmick of the courses, I went for 8 but actually received 3 savoury courses, cheese, pre dessert and dessert with canapé and petit fours which for them counted as a course, the 3 savoury courses were all great, pre dessert and dessert a total disappointment and not worth the star.
Then let’s move to the service, staff was friendly but not coordinated, before sitting down I spotted two stains on my tablecloth, been asked for water twice and they brought also the wrong one 😂🤦🏻♂️. Wine list is embarrassing with no bottles costing less than 90 pounds which looks like a big rip off and not leaving much choice to who wants to spend a bit less, no half bottles and glasses of wine with too much gap, I’m a sommelier and this looked like they either don’t have a sommelier or the list is made to scam people, in all this the owner looked more like the clown of the circus seated on the table next to mine drinking with some other guests rather that being worried about running the restaurant.
The decors feels like the place is stuck in the 80’s. For the money spent absolutely not worth and probably not worth the Michelin star, but probably they are retaining it only because they have it for long time. If you are going often around for these types of restaurants you probably visit once and then never again, there’s a lot better around the area with better value for the price. Feels bad to leave a review like these, first because I work in the industry and always trying to be kind to others, and because the staff were friendly, but felt they were not on top of their game at all
Pied à TerreHa risposto 1 giorno faOn-line menus are updated daily. Our Tête de Moine is no shortcut. We allow 2.5 hours for 8 course menus. Your arrival time was 13.10, petit fours served at 15.02. You were given wine list to peruse. You requested two glasses of red, these were served at your pace. Longest time between courses was 15 minutes. We have quicker paced meals from £55. The Somm served £14 Kinki Ortega checking back moments after tasting. The GM served £23 Cortona Syrah, invited you to taste, then the Somm discussed. You enjoyed complimentary Pinot Blanc with cheese and 95 Josmeyer Grand Cru with dessert. Our multi-awarded wine list has many bottles under £90, wines by glass from £14, not £25, half bottles available. I often sit with guests, but always available to serve. Fuller comment on google.
