Atmosfera affascinante

Pietramala is a little restaurant located in Northern Liberties celebrating plants, wood-fire cooking and seasonality. We offer a small, regularly changing menu based on the highest quality, organic ingredients grown or made with care in Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic. Our Italian leaning, but globally inspired food is always presented simply with familiar flavors achieved in creative new ways. Often touched by fire, smoke or fermentation to unlock unique flavors, our dishes sometimes require days or even months of preparation. We pride ourselves on our open kitchen, where our wood-fired hearth takes center stage, and our commitment to friendly service and warm hospitality in an intimate, but lively atmosphere. All are welcome and our entirely plant-based menu can accommodate any allergy or dietary restriction with advance notice. We are currently BYOB and offer a small, seasonal alcohol free beverage menu. We look forward to welcoming you.

You will be able to view the whole kitchen in action and interact with the chefs as they serve your food. Please consider that this reservation is near the door and is bar seating. Overall a most worthwhile experience. Place is a little too noisy and smoky -- smoke is pretty much its raison d'etre! -- for our taste. And for any group with vegan representation, this is the place. No animal protein anywhere in sight. The dishes are all innovative and tasty, but a little bit over-priced. Oh, and it's BYOB: a big plus, even though we forgot our wine.

The food was delicious, the service excellent and the noise level fine. The back room,while acceptable seemed less attractive than the front-the main space. Still we very much enjoyed our first visit and look forward to returning soon.

Greatly appreciate a vegan restaurant that can meet/exceed the standards of Philly's best restaurants. The sweet potato pie was the best dessert both my husband and I have had in a long time. The beet salad was inspired.

The service and food were thoughtful and phenomenal. Officially a must-go whenever I am in the state, I cant recommend it enough.

wonderful experience from the moment we walked in the door... thoughtful staff, amazing food, and as a bonus, i really loved the music that was playing. 10 out of 10, looking forward to getting back to Pietramala.

There’s not a single dish I haven’t been blown away by here. I’d bury myself in the focaccia if I could just for the chance to eat myself free from the inside out. The chicory salad was perfectly creamy and light with olives smoked in a way I didn’t know was possible. The honeynut squash was a beautiful amalgamation of flavors and fantasies. I could drink a pool dry filled with the elderflower soda. 1000/10 absolutely worth dining at pietramala!

This is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. Always leave absolutely stuffed to the gills and very satisfied. Truly you will rarely have the same flavors twice (assuming you don’t go every week as I’d like to!) and they always amaze. I’ve never had food as creative, delicious, and satisfying. Truly such a gem.
