Poeta is nestled within The Frances Modern Inn located on historic 11th street, just minutes from downtown.
Locally created and operated by award winning chefs, this neighborhood establishment welcomes everyone to partake in a meal, drinks, or dessert all day with breakfast, lunch or dinner, and enjoy daily happy hour.

First time to this new venture and well worth it. Friendly and attentive service. The food is obviously thoughtfully put together was awash of flavors. From the antipasti, pasta dishes and dessert we had, all were hearty portions and great in taste. The tuna carpaccio was magical and with an unexpected presentation. The establishment uses only fresh ingredients and makes its own pasta and has its own pastry chef. Their house cocktails were quite imaginative and yummy. I think one improvement which will come in time, is the depth of their wine selection and ability of staff to walk through the offerings. Go on a weekend when valet parking is available otherwise it can be a bit of a scavenger hunt finding a place to park, even with their detailed map on their website. It can be a 2 block walk if not. I felt prices were very reasonable. We will be back and take friends. Thanks Poeta!!!

Really enjoyed all aspects of our evening at Poeta. Antipasti Salad and Roasted Cauliflower were great starters. Seared Bass was fantastic with the tomato pesto...will be thinking of how to recreate that at home. Exceptional value for the service and quality.

Hands down best food I’ve had in awhile. Asked for a few recommendations from our waitress, every single items was amazing!! And I’m a tough critic! Very pleased and happy I made my birthday dinner reservations at Poeta. Will 10000% be back to try more.

Poeta is truly a gem and one of my absolute favorites in Austin. Ian and his incredibly talented team consistently deliver an exceptional dining experience. The food is nothing short of extraordinary, with a menu that evolves beautifully to showcase the freshest, seasonal ingredients at their peak. Every visit is a journey of creativity and flavor that leaves a lasting impression. Whether it’s the impeccable service, the thoughtfully curated dishes, or the inviting atmosphere, Poeta never fails to create an enjoyable and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

The food is largely made from scratch, breads pastas and cheeses which is amazing. It’s also locally owned which is great. Been twice so far and could see myself going routinely, the staff is very pleasant and the food is amazing.

Unbelievable food, service, and ambiance. There were only two of us so go with more people to try more dishes!! Everything was incredible. Service and style of space was very chic.
