Pony’s executive chef and team are the masters of the wood fire grill, producing contemporary and modern Australian dishes of the season’s freshest produce since its opening in 2006.

In an open kitchen where Exec Chef Neil Nolan enjoys a chat with our guests, the Argentinian grill fuelled by iron bark takes dominance with the menu created around this masterpiece.

Pony is located in Sydney’s oldest cobblestone laneway within the historic and bustling dining precinct of The Rocks offering inside and outside seating. Our carefully crafted boutique selection of wines and delicious cocktail list complements our a la carte and group menus.

Fab modern bistro. Busy and noisy at times and tables close so not the place for a quiet romantic assignation unless you book at a quiet time. Everyone goes for the kangaroo skewers - which are indeed excellent, but try the duck and maple sausages - really tasty and nice texture. Oh, and the music on the evening we were there was great - the chef’s playlist we gathered. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Not cheap but you’ll come away cheerful!

I ordered the aged sirloin and expected it to be more tender. It was still way more than I could eat. I’d recommend the eye of tenderloin for a more normal portion. I saw plenty of folks getting the Tomahawk steak. Seating was outside at a bench. I’d have preferred more intimate dining for the price.

We loved everything about Pony Dining! Hidden behind a rolling barn door, it felt like walking into a Speakeasy.great ambience, great food, cool vibe!

Disappointed to say the least Waited over hr for mains Rib eye tasted burnt Pork was dry We were compensated by free desert which we were grateful however i much prefer a good meal than a free desert. Sad to say but i would not recommend.

Valentines Day set menu had outstanding choices if it was a bit pricey. The service was attentive and we were served quickly. Nice atmosphere. All 6 of us enjoyed our meals!
