The minute you walk into Poseidon, you’ll be swept by the fabulous view. You couldn’t be closer to the sand and the beach than sitting at Poseidon on their beautiful outdoor patio. With such a spectacular ocean view, you’ll experience breathtaking sunsets and during the right season even catch a glimpse of the whales migrating up or down the coast. The bar offers a large circular firepit, which is nice on those chilly fall or winter nights. Off to the side of the bar is a split level dining room offering every table a panoramic view of the beach and the ocean. For decades, Poseidon has delighted both local San Diegans and the tourists that love the beach.

                                                        Walked in the young lady was friendly, and greeted us with a smile. There was a middle aged lady who was super nice with blonde hair who made us feel special! I wish I would have gotten her name. Our waitress was Lupe. Let me tell you this lady, was so nice, and friendly,happy and was always smiling. When I come back I will definitely ask for her section. Onto the food.... clam chowder was delicious 😋 creamy. Shrimp cocktail was the best I have ever had. Big fat shrimp 🍤 . For my meal I had the lobster. So much flavor! Cooked to perfection! I'm picky about lobster. If it's over cooked I'm not happy...this was a perfect lobster with the side sauces it was amazing. I'm happy we chose this restaurant for my 55 b- day. The sunset after dinner was amazing 👏 Thank you for an unforgettable experience ❤️

                                                        The setting, right on the beach, is the top draw of Poseidon. Even though it was a chilly night, the ample heaters on the patio made an outside dining experience comfortable. The service was impeccable. My husband and I both had seafood, which was good, but the portions were way too small for the high price. Overall, a nice dining experience in a beautiful setting. When I return, I think it will be during the day for a cocktail and maybe a light snack.

                                                        David was the epitome of what a waiter should be. If it wasn’t for him all other ratings would lower. Steak was good everything else was meh. Probably was a premiere restaurant in the day but not so much now.

                                                        Everything was perfect! Meagan was our waitress, she immediately recognized us although this was only our second time here. I love this place. Actually, I will book tomorrow night right now :).

                                                        While I think $31 is a lot for a salmon quinoa salad, it was delicious and it would have been enough to eat only half but I finished the whole thing! The salmon was a larger size than I expected - cooked perfectly. The beach view is worth every cent.
