Public House Downtown, an eclectic public ale house, restaurant, and sports venue at the corner of 16th and L Streets in downtown Sacramento featuring American-style cuisine and an expansive 60-beer selection on tap. Public House Downtown is a family-friendly establishment to watch sports, enjoy great food and meet friends or family for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner or late night eats. Featuring 23 high definition flat screens and a state-of-the-art sound system. The building itself is a focal point of Sacramento history as it once housed Firestone Tire Co. from 1920 to 2004. Firestone Public House rounds out the thriving block of 16th and L Streets and is conveniently located within walking distance of a number of signature downtown establishments including Cafeteria 15L, The Park Downtown, de Vere’s Irish Pub and M!X Downtown. The State Capitol, the Sacramento Convention Center, the Memorial Auditorium and several hotels are also within a few blocks.

                                                                                                                                We decided to have lunch here prior to a concert at the Golden 1 Center. We arrived earlier than our reservation, and were seated promptly, as it was not too busy. Tonya was our server and she gave us great service. The food was good and tasty, as was the beer. There is also plenty of on street parking.

                                                                                                                                If you are going to an event at Memorial Auditorium, a quick service venue for dinner is Public House Downtown. Lobster pizza was cheesey with small bites of lobster and my three small fish tacos had delicious mango salsa and spicy sauce. The coffee ice cream sandwich was so yummy that I will return for just dessert. Prices are normal for downtown and with a brisk walk you will arrive at your destination on time.

Service was almost non existent. Had to watch our food sit on counter for some time and some of it was quite delayed. Struggled to make a show even with almost 2 hours for meal.

                                                                                                                                Excellent location - just a short walk from the memorial auditorium where we saw a performance after dinner. Service was surprisingly very fast, and the food was awesome!

As were the buffalo wings, onion rings and fries! I will definitely becoming back to try other items including desserts. As for the cocktails....since the cocktail I got was thick on the syrup, I passed on trying other mixed drinks. I'll be sticking with a beer or wine next time. Otherwise, this place is worth visiting.

                                                                                                                                My wife and I went to the Public House on New Year's Eve. Public House is a casual place with a sports bar vibe. We found the service and the food to be both very good. I had the the spicy shrimp and chicken stir fry and my wife had the fried chicken and ribs combo. The food was well prepared, well presented and the portions were ample without being too much. Service was very good and all the staff were friendly. We would recommend Public House and would go back.

Will definitely recommend to friends and come back the next time we're in the area.

                                                                                                                                Went for brunch on a Saturday, it was full, but not too full. They had football on, which I didn't come for, but it was nice to have a noise level so that me and my friends can talk medium level and no one would really notice. The server was so nice and came just the right number of times to check on us. The food was great!! I had the prosciutto pizza and it was amazing. I want to come back for happy hour.
