Pure South Dining is founded on philosophy of Ethical, Sustainable and Provenance driven produce, championing Tasmanian farmers, fishermen and small producers. The best in season produce is flown from the islands of King, Flinders & Tasmanian directly to our Southbank kitchen.

Pure South Dining offers our guests two dining options to suite any occasion.

The ground floor Pure South Kitchen is our casual riverside bistro offering classics from morning till late. Enjoy our Tassie produce without the fuss, while you look out to the Southbank promenade, sipping cocktails with friends.

Ascend the stairs to the Pure South Dining Room, for a modern fine dining experience, with stunning views of the Yarra River & Melbourne's skyline. Dine a la carte, or embark on a culinary journey with our six-course tasting menu. Our in house sommelier is on hand to guide you through our extensive wine list, with over 400 bottles highlighting Tassie Chardonnay & Pinot Noir.

We went NYE early sitting and the staff were able to kindly accommodate a couple of friends who had not booked which required a 4 seater table which luckily was close to the window 👏 Nigel was our waiter and he was of good humour, kind and helpful. The food was soooo tasty with wonderful flavour combinations albeit small servings but it enabled us to fit in 3 courses👍

We had a delicious early dinner on New Years Eve and the service staff were good, friendly but not as attentive as usual. This was understandable due to NYE and very busy and we still enjoyed a great night.

The gluten free options are limited and the gnocchi was quite bland. The pizza on the other hand was fresh and really good.

Went to Pure South Kitchen on Christmas Day and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, starters, mains and desserts. The staff were attentive and very welcoming make the Christmas day experience memorable.

We have eaten at Pure South many times in the past. We were incredibly disappointed with the service last night. The food was late and cold, my lamb was half as much as usual. The toilets were filthy. When we complained to the manager he did nothing. I appreciate it is holiday season, but the staff didn’t seem to care that we were not happy. It will be some time before we return.
