Upscale comfort food and home style hospitality in a historically distinct setting. Our menu features a modern twist on traditional Lewiston+Auburn favorites, alongside innovative railroad-inspired comfort food dishes Built in the early 1870s, Grand Trunk Station serviced the Lewiston-Auburn rail line that connected to the larger Montreal-Portland railroad. The line transported nearly 25,000 migrants, particularly French-Canadians, to work in the mills and shoe-making factories along the Androscoggin River. Known to locals as both “The Depot” and “The Ellis Island of Maine,” the station became a bustling hub, as thousands of immigrants arrived to work in the booming industrial towns, driven by the textile mills and the shoe fabrication factories. The extraordinary history of this location inspired our family to create a venue that would capture the classic spirit of travel and new world adventure.

                                                                            This restaurant is permanently closed. Luckily I dropped by beforehand to check it out and could not locate, so we made a backup Rez. A simple google search revealed it was closed for good. Yet opentable has them listed and even confirmed my reservation and sent me reminders. I eventually got email from opentable admitting it was closed for good. Please update your customer database.

                                                                            Just o.k. My salad was tasty but the others dining w/me were disappointed in their meal. Steak was tough, mashed potatoes were not hot and service left a lot to be desired. We were glad to have tried it, but won't be going back.

                                                                            We had to visit the Auburn/ Lewiston Maine area for a funeral, so my elderly parents my brother, and I were looking for a nice place to have dinner the evening prior. We booked a table at rails and were pleasantly pleased with our dinner. Three of us had their salmon special and it was a very nice preparation and a generous piece as well. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive, and the overall decor was fun and fresh with a peppering of vintage photos and relics relating to the old railway station of its’ former life. Would definitely go back!
