Raíz is a haute cuisine restaurant where the heart is corn. Every day we grind and nixtamalize our corn, in an artisanal way, coming from small producers around the Valley of Mexico. Complemented by seafood dishes, sustainable fishing, and a careful selection of world wines and spirits where Agave distillates play a leading role.

I had only a small meal—2 tacos and a carrot salad which was all very good. I wanted to save room for dessert and I’m glad I did! The chocolate tamale with dried chilies ice cream is divine! The chef sent me a small complimentary dessert with little bites in a goat cheese mouse! All very good! I highly recommend it!

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Raíz in Mexico City, and it was an exceptional experience. The restaurant's tasting menu, priced at $1,700 MXN, offers a delightful journey through contemporary Mexican cuisine. Each of the six courses was a masterpiece, showcasing the chef's creativity and skill. Our meal began with a refreshing Kampachi tiradito, followed by tender corn with a delightful twist. The Enmolada with escamoles was a unique and flavorful dish, and the A la talla fish was cooked to perfection. The beef brisket was tender and rich, and the meal concluded with a seasonal dessert that was both elegant and satisfying. To complement the exquisite dishes, we opted for the wine pairing menu, which cost an additional $1,800 MXN. The selection included fine wines such as Blanc de Castel IGT 2022, The Crystal Ship 2023, PÉT NAT Rosé NV, Altavista Premium Estate 2023, Megacero 2022, and Eiswien 2020. Each wine was thoughtfully chosen to enhance the flavors of the dishes, creating a harmonious dining experience. The ambiance of Raíz is warm and inviting, with a focus on sustainability and high-quality ingredients. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that every aspect of our meal was enjoyable. Overall, Raíz provides an unforgettable culinary experience that is well worth the visit. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to indulge in fine dining, Raíz is a must-visit destination in Mexico City.

The food and service were incredible. We tried 5 different appetizers, the most notable were the asparagus salad, corn and the duck taco, but all were great. For the entrees, we had the octopus, the breadt of beef, the talla fish, the duck and a vegetarian mole; all were incredible! The desserts were all so good; we tried everyone one but the flan and the chocolate tomal were our faves.

I really loved our dinner at Raiz, and it’s a place I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambience of the restaurant set the tone for the evening. The interior had a warm, inviting feel with just the right level of lighting to make it intimate without being too dim. The music was well-curated and perfectly complemented the overall vibe—relaxing yet energetic enough to keep the mood lively. We opted for the 9-course tasting menu, which felt thoughtfully priced given the exceptional quality and creativity of the dishes. Each course was beautifully presented, showcasing the chef’s attention to detail and flair for innovation. Out of the nine courses, several dishes stood out as exceptional. The pork belly was a standout, cooked to perfection with a crispy exterior and a tender, flavorful interior. The parsnips were surprisingly delightful, highlighting how a humble vegetable can be transformed into something extraordinary. And then there was the flan—a dessert that left a lasting impression. Creamy, smooth, and perfectly balanced in sweetness, it was honestly one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. It was the perfect way to end the meal and left me wishing I could have another serving! Overall, Raiz delivered not just a meal but an experience. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the enjoyment of the evening with their thoughtful service. I can’t wait to go back and try more of what they have to offer.

Great culinary experience. We chose to do the nine course, prefix and each course unique and well paired. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back again.
