We are excited to welcome you to Rania, DC's hottest destination for modern Indian food. Tom Sietsema has called our food "some of the most inspired Indian cooking in DC." At Rania, we offer homage to the time-honored traditions, rich flavors, and spices of India in an intimate, luxurious setting. We look forward to sharing our vision with you!

Presenting sophisticated, highly acclaimed 4-course prix-fixe menu, with an upcoming debut of our chef's tasting menu.

Policies:
-Dress Code: Smart Business Casual. No shorts, athletic wear, or baseball caps are allowed.
-Children under 10 are not allowed in the main dining areas.
-Reservations are available for parties of up to 6 people.
- A non-refundable deposit of $30 per person is required for parties larger than 5.
-A 20% gratuity will be added to all parties 5 or more.

The Chef's Tasting Menu was spectacular - with unique flavors in ever course. We enjoy exploring tasting menus when we dine out and this was one of the finest we have had. In some places it seems that the dishes are fussy for fussy's sake, but at Rania, every ingredient seemed to add to the dish in a meaningful way. It there was a sixth start to give in the rating scale, I would have given it.

The interior design sets a classy, intentional tone the moment you step in. The cocktail menu has a wide array of options, all with a mix of both familiar and exotic ingredients that were perfectly balanced so that you could pick up on each unique flavor without any particular one of them overwhelming the palette. The four course prix fixe menu included options that appealed to each member of our party. Much like the cocktails, the dishes were both familiar and new with interesting ingredients, combinations, and new flavors to explore. Our choice to include the wine pairing with our meal added so much to the overall experience, with each individual menu selection being matched exquisitely to a complementary wine option. The dishes were all fantastic, with not a single one disappointing or mediocre. We left feeling we’d had something special, worthwhile, and unique. While the overall cost is very high, as a rare treat Rania rises to the occasion.

This was amazing, from start to finish. I am not an expert or that knowledgeable about Indian food, but literally everything was beautiful and tasted wonderful. I loved the mousse dessert especially! My son said it was the best meal he had ever eaten.

We dined at Rania for our anniversary and loved the fantastic food and excellent service. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented, and the staff was attentive. However, the restaurant was quite noisy, making it less ideal for a romantic evening. Our anniversary wasn’t acknowledged, which may have been an OpenTable oversight, but it would have been a nice touch. Overall, a great spot for amazing Indian cuisine— just keep in mind that for a quieter, more romantic experience, it might not be the ideal choice.

The chef set the bar high with a very flavorful amuse bouche, then continued to deliver over the next seven courses. High end Indian dishes done well.

Love! If anything, there may have been too much staff foot-traffic around the table. Felt a bit rushed at some points. Perhaps pacing of some courses could have been better - but I could have said something as well, so not their fault. Anyway, absolutely spectacular flavors. Would recommend to anyone interested in amazing Indian cuisine on an elevated level!
